Personally, I can't listen to music when I'm trying to sleep.

So, I get the sounds of birds and the city, and that's it.

Been listening to a lot of Middle Eastern/North African trip hop & house type stuff... makes wonderful drifting-off music. I can't usually sleep to music with singing, but this works since most of the vocals aren't in English. So far I am mostly just playing the "Arabix" station on Live 365, but some favorite artists are Sultana, Tinariwen, Cheb i Sabbah, Balkan BeatBox, Entheogenic, Ojos de Brujo, & Natacha Atlas.
