I've seen you a couple times now say you're "not all that goth."

Would you say that you might lean a bit "goth a billy"?

Just curious.

I'd say so from what I've seen. At least with the look she has.

I feel like I should dress appropriately for her visit. I've got this really great cherries-motif thing going on, but I really need and underbust corset to make it "just so".

i say she leans more towards total hottie

Oh, wow. I needed this today. Thank you!

I guess I do stagger around the goth-a-billy range.

perhaps you could post a full picture of yourself, to show as an example of this gothabilly nomenclature er somethin like that....

LOL

Hopefully, some decent pics will be taken while I'm there. I have no good pics of myself at all.

The goth-a-billy look blends elements of 50's greaser style and goth.

I'm not quickly finding good examples by a quick Google image search. But for guys, it's biker jackets, bowling shirts in dark shades, jeans, creeper shoes or boots, that sort of thing. Chicks tend toward a-line skirts, cute tops, often ankle strap mary-janes with heels, etc.

Of course there's lots of variation. But those are some very typical pieces in a gothabilly wardrobe.

Very popular icons & images appearing in the look include cherries, dice, flames, devil heads, traditional tattoos - both genuine and in clothing/jewelry (bluebirds, pin-up girls, etc.), etc.

Hairstyle, make-up and accessories are what usually bring in the "goth". Mohawks are seen about as often as DA's. Bettie Page bangs on chicks are pretty typical.

Make-up tends to be on the goth side.

The music is GREAT. Retro beats & hollow-body guitars, stand-up bass, with dark synth work often thrown in, etc.

Jon, methinks, would do VERY well with a gothabilly look.

Yeah.....

I have a couple of "traditional" style tattoos, I wear a lot of pencil skirts and cute blouses, platform pumps (my favorite ones are fuzzy leopard print!), etc. The look always seems to lean toward pinup style, despite not necessarily being built like a pinup (read: no boobs).

Jon probably would look pretty cool in that style. I'm sure he looks great, no matter what. This is due to your excellent taste in men, FC. :wink
