An ongoing problem in Detroit, has now gotten worse, people have been breaking into houses, and stealing copper pipe, and aluminum siding, considering now copper goes for $3.00 a LB.Also it now is costing the city over 7 million a year to replace copper wiring in all the street lights. They say within a year or two, copper will be over 5 bucks a LB.

Shit I guess I'will have to borrow my brother's Glock, because you know these idiots will be heading north to do the same thing.IMO.

PS at least your CD/DVD player, and TV will still be in the house.

Hopefully, inflation will slow down a bit. If we see home prices continue to fall...i think it will.

I was talking to my brother about this a month ago. He's lives in South Carolina and works in the house building industry. He said there has been a LOT of theft at construction sites of metals since the price is starting to climb. He's also hearing about the increase on thefts of materials from infrastructure like DM mentioned above. It's crazy to think people are resorting to stealing wire out of street lights in America.

Either that... or get rid of them since you might be targeted for theft if they know you have them.

This is kinda wierd, I am not trying to be Silvia Brown or anything.....but.....I predict that rummaging through garbage dumps will be the next 'carreer' frontier. I think we will run out of some resoarses and the poor people who are willing to do this will have a very lucrative income someday.

No, more like the pennies were hiding. Since George Bush wouldn't allow pennies into University of Michigan anymore and he let the rest die in hurricane Katrina. I remember the hero/rapper Kanye West siiiiide connection appearing on PBS saying "George Bush don't care about pennies yo!"
