n0Mad Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 Go ahead and shoot me but I really like Footloose and Top Gun. Half of Stigmata is really good but I tire of the Billy Corgan score after a while. Matrix is awesome but 2 and 3 are just okay. Not a movie soundtrack, but Les Miserables is always in my truck and I sing along to that often. I'll think on this, check my collection, and list some more.
Hellion Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 :devil The Last Action Hero soundtrack, awsome compilation
Scary Guy Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 I like soundtracks that are more soundtracks and not compilations, or created for the movie. Danny Elfman, Walter/Wendy Carlos, John Williams, Goblin. Everything I've heard from them I've liked.

phee Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Pi Anything that has Autechre and Clint "Pop Will Eat Itself" Mansell is happy. Even when he did the music to "Sahara" the Matthew McConnerblah movie?
Fierce Critter Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 I'm more fond of just the theme songs than entire soundtracks. Favorites include: Swashbuckler - John Addison The 7th Voyage of Sinbad - Bernard Herrmann (you'd know him best probably as the composer of the "shower scene" music from Psycho) I also like the skeleton fighters' music from 7th Voyage. Charade - Henry Mancini Pink Panther - Henry Mancini Avengers - Laurie Johnson (cheating - TV show) Man From U.N.C.L.E. - Jerry Goldsmith (cheating again) Star Wars - John Williams - a good deal of the rest of the score, too ANYTHING Danny Elfman has done, but especially Edward Scissorhands & Beetlejuice Captain Blood - Erich Wolfgang Korngold The Sea Hawk - Erich Wolfgang Korngold Good, The Bad & The Ugly - Ennio Morricone For a Few Dollars More - E. Morricone How the West Was Won - Alfred Newman Navaho Joe - E. Morricone The Magnificent Seven - Elmer Bernstein The Streets of Laredo - Victor Young I like so many theme songs, especially westerns & adventure films, it would take me all day to do this. My oldest sister was born in 1950. She is/was a movie FREAK, and I grew up listening to her record collection, which was almost exclusively movie & broadway soundtracks. So much of my favorite music is comprised of theme songs, that it would honestly take more time to do this than I can spend right now. And that doesn't even count full musical albums. Don't get me started.
Shade Everdark Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 I love love love the Mononoke-Hime Soundtrack. Joe Hisaishi is the man, yo. It's cheesy and lame, but there is a special place in my heart for the soundtrack to the Last Unicorn. It's a bit hard to get into in its own right, but the soundtrack to Fight Club was perfect. And I can't believe no one mentioned The Neverending Story.
Fierce Critter Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 And I can't believe no one mentioned The Neverending Story. I have never seen it. I know I'm "one of the few". But I do like the Limahl theme song. Adding to soundtrack ephemera, I love the themes to the games Parasite Eve 1 and 2 (both the same, just different versions), and like how the Silent Hill theme starts, though I'm not super fond of the entire theme.
LittleHarpy Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Queen of the Damned and X-men the Last Stand... (weird, I know but I love score music if its really good)
LuluVox Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Oh, DUH. I'm a ninny. I forgot THIS: Leonard Cohen: I'm Your Man. It's the live performances of his songs by other artists that were used for the film...which is of them being performed, mostly.
