Anyone who likes the Godzilla movies might be interested in this. Target has a 2 dvd set of Gojira (Original Japanese release) and Godzilla King of the Monsters (Original American release with Raymond Burr) on sale.

Until today I had never seen the original Japanese version. Didn't realize just how much the American version was bastardized until now.

I have a large number on VHS. There a two versions of most of the early ones. King Kong vs. Godzila is a good example. Two versions. Two endings. Godzilla wins in the Japanese version and King Kong in the American. Though B grade movies, they are tailored for the target audiance.

I've never seen the original, just the Raymond Burr version... but watching that, you can tell that huge chunks of the original storyline are missing... there was definitely some helly crude slicing & dicing done. Animerica just did a big article about the dvd release... I think it's a 50th anniversary thing... & I really really want it but I'm too poor to get it right now. This impoverished unemployment shyte sucks big donkey dicks... I almost cried looking at Jordash/Dark Star clothes on eBay today.
