Soulrev Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 Well everyone has their own opinion I guess. I hate them personally. I can't stand the lead singer's voice and it's just a bunch of emo crap in my opinion but hey.. Whatever floats your boat I guess. If I had it my way I'd snipe MCR with my mosin-nagant.

Slept with ghost Posted November 6, 2006 Author Posted November 6, 2006 They are very unchallenging so of course they are going to be popular. But why listen to them when you can hear their forerunners (Smashing Pumpkins and The Cure) do it so much better? agreed actually the smashing pumpkins have been my favorite band for a very long time
Brenda Starrr Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Doesn't change the fact that I like them.
MarsDustDoug Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 they have some great lyrics. Their music is catchy and formulated like any popular band, but I too must agree that i dig on em here and there. this is a bit from a song called "I never told you what I do for a living" on their second album "three cheers for sweet revenge" "Another knife in my hands A stain that never comes off the sheets Clean me off I’m so dirty, babe It ain't the money And it sure as hell ain't just for the fame It’s for the bodies I claim and those Only go so far to bury them" this is from a song on their first album "I bring you my bullets, you brought me your love" its called "Honey this mirror isnt big enough for the both of us" "The amount of pills I'm taking, counteracts the booze I'm drinking and this vanity I'm breaking, lets me live my life like this and well I find it hard to stay, with the words you say Oh baby let me in Oh baby let me in Well I'll choose the life I've taken, never mind the friends I'm making and the beauty that I'm faking lets me live my life like this And well I find it hard to stay, with the words you say Oh baby let me in Oh baby let me in And you can cry all you want to, I don't care how much You'll invest yourself in me, we're not working out (we're not working out) We're not working out (we're not working out) And you can't touch my brother and you can't keep my friends and we're not working out, we're not working out This time I mean it, never mind the times I've seen it" even though they are not the most original band out there, they have very well written lyircs. His style is far form the typical drivvil popualr bands normally use. Im very big on lyrics, and the lyrical content of a song can change my view of it often. Talented musicians with sub-par lyrics just feels like a waste. But, an average band with great words and a talented voice singing them can go leaps and bounds in my eyes.
