So, what did you do? Did you give out candy? How'd it go? Did you carve a pumpkin - got a pic?

We handed out candy for the first time ever, really. We've done it before at my parents', but never on our own. Jon ended up not home, which was disappointing. But we had decorated nice together, so the house looked good outside.

I downloaded a program that turns your monitor into a strobelight. I turned it around and aimed it out the window. I also had a really great soundtrack of scary sounds going with the speakers aimed out the windows.

Kids started coming just before dark. I gave out gummy body parts. Went through 3 bags of them in about 2-1/2 hours, then had to turn my lights out when I ran out. It was a really good turnout, and I had a lot of fun.

Kids had the cutest costumes on. And only one group of about 5 teenagers without costumes on. That was refreshing. At my parents, they get dozens of them, pisses me off - at least draw on some fake facial hair or something, ya know?

This is my hastily carved Cat-O-Lantern:

Where did you find that stobe light program at?

We never get any trick or treaters here. So I left the porch light on and my Halloween lights in the window and went to bed to take a nap. I got woken up twice by kids yelling trick or treat and one time I heard pounding on the door. I had candy...I had the yard and porch decorated but I figured I would not get any kids like usual so I didn't plan on it. I eventually got up and turned the porch light off and went back to bed. Next year I will know better. My hubby had to work and wouldn't get home till close to 10 so I thought napping was a good idea since I was tired.

Flasher 3000

The link is down the page a bit.

Not as bright as a real strobelight, but it was a nice effect.

I have rather "eccentric" neighbors. (Of course they think I'm the strange one, but still...). Something weird happens here every year. Last year I was dressed in my usual attire and had on a black coat and black jeans - nothing really super gothy or unusual. I was staying back in the background while my kid knocked on the doors and got candy. People kept asking me what I was dressed as. I just said errr.... myself? (I could understand if I had on gothy makeup or fishnet, but nothing like that).

This year, even more strange. My eldest daughter and her friend took my youngest out to trick or treat and along with the usual candy they came back with this:

The fortune cookie I guess is sort of like candy, but microwavable mac&cheese? I asked if it had looked like they were caught off guard by halloween or something, but she said there was a huge bowl of the mac&cheese packs the guy was handing out!

The night was fun though. My eldest daughter's friend came over dressed as an atom and both my daughters were pirates:

I dressed as a serial killer. Which means I wore my normal clothes.

ROFLMAO!

You know, by the time I was down to about 10 pieces of candy, I started thinking that with no cash on hand and no Jon to run out and buy more, I was going to have to start handing out canned goods!!!

I love the atom "costume". idea :D Some imagination there.

I went out with the girls. This year they ran a lot and we covered a lot more ground then in the past. On the other hand.. They were both worn out, especially Kyra. No strange incidents to report.

OMG ICP puts on thee best show. I think the only other one I saw that came close was Queens ryke years ago.

They put so much effort into it. Spared no expense........

And CC was good after too.
