JaneDead Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 people beat the dead horse because they have not discovered the "serious" thread yet
BrassFusion Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Why don't horses get invited to barnyard board meetings? They're always neighsayers. And YES I just made that up
Slept with ghost Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 heh i think some pages can go on to 3 or 4 pages of pointless arguring because we cant insult each other on the board
Troy Spiral (13) Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 I think this really only applies when the "combatants" are pissed off or are very closed minded. Because some things are fairly complicated and it does take a long back-and-fourth to get it sorted out what they are trying to say exactly. Hopefully, its also possible that open minded people talking back and fourth might actually change their opinion/viewpoint based on new information. This sort of non-aggressive back and forth for pages on end i'm totally fine with and encourage. I would much rather see civil discussion of an actual subject than the page after page of random spew that sometimes passes for conversation. But, it does seem like some people are obviously so entrenched in a given opinion that it really doesn't matter what you say their opinion is not going to change and you might as well just stfu move on to something else. Often its a mark of maturity to be able to just "drop it" and move on without having to throw in one last jab.
