I can understand, especially in your case how this whole situation effects you. Funding. We spend a nice fortune sponsoring the guns for the danged nation where the terrorists came from. Then when something like 9/11 happens we get all upset about it and start this "war" that technically isn't a war. People were alot more for the war on 9/11 than they are now, because they're starting to think it's not worth the financial abyss we've put ourselves in that could be funding better things like medical or educational persuits. It's not like we didn't "beef up security" around our borders.

It's been going down hill financially for this country before this. I don't just mean the government. The laws we put in place to stop corporations from having too much control (monopolies) and breaks to help new businesses are being screwed with; even on a city level- well the small business part anyway. This isn't doing us any good to let big business get away with things. And, it is a personal belief that elected officials should not own a company that brings in more than 40,000 k for the owner's personal profit or be allowed to buy stock while in office. It would stop alot of the crap. And no more political funding. We put them on multiple tv stations for debates once a week during peak hours. They don't need to fly all over the place to try to get people to vote for them. I've never been swayed for a candidate that comes over and clogs up traffic in the D. Maybe against them.

We're wasting time and money. Not only that but when we get a "new government" in Iraq. What do we really think will change?

What would I do with Saddam? I would have given him to the people in the poorest part of his country and let them be the jury. I would have let them decide. He belongs to them and is their responsibility. If they let him walk- we know damn well what that country really wants.

Alright...I've been thinking about this for a few days now, trying to figure out how to put whats in my mind.

Saddam on trial = good

Saddam convicted = good

Saddam being executed = good, justice is served

I'm not really up for any huge public display of torture/mass media spectacle of the execution. To me, that's taking several steps away from the idea of justice being served into an area that I think we, as human beings, are better than.

A lot of my previous post was trying to figure out why Saddam's reign hit you so personally. I'm a little confused as to why he is the one that bears such a huge responsibility of the world being a messed up place to you. I'm aware of the things that he was tried for, and while I don't think that the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people and the suppression of a nation is a good thing, why him? There's other people that are pretty ugly in the whole no-regard-for-basic-human-life-or-dignity/bigotry way as well.

Is it because of the war over there? The shift of the flow of your tax money? Family/friends over there?

Hmmm....going back and re-reading your first post, you say you have your reasons and don't want to air them. That's cool...I'll respect that. Just looking for something I can understand.

We do need reasons to execute even the most corrupt of leaders. As Americans, we DON'T have a reason, in this case, and that's why we've handed him over to the Iraqis to deal with as they see fit.

lol, no i wish, yesterday 2 squad cars were following me everywhere, the day before i kept seeing black unmarked cop cars always following me... and it is SO OBVIOUS. Perhaps they just don't like my license plate name? Either way, i'm getting rather sick of this as I saw a cop helicopter 3 days ago, following me it seemed for at least 30 mins (turned around when i turned around... twice)
