My First Mohawk

Well my friend is a hairstylist and she came by to give me a haircut yesterday. I have never had a mohawk before in my life and I figure now that I have an opportunity to have one (no job, just waiting to join the military) I figured I should try one on for size before I have to get the standard military haircut for the next few years..

I have to say it looks fuckin awesome. I've gotten so many compliments from my friends already. They say it fits me perfectly. I'll have to snap some pictures and post them. I need to update my myspace pics too they're about a year and 30 pounds ago ;)

man, i was all for trying it myself until i came to work one day & saw "dave", a 40-something, hillbilly (he admits to this, so it's not an insult) with half his teeth missing and a big beer gut, sporting a mohawk with pride - i said to myself, "well, that's that..."

mohawks used to be cool, but they're just way too mainstream for me personally, although i know several people who it looks awesome on! looking forward to the pics!

Yeah I know a lot of people around here who try to make mohawks out of normal hair.. Looks dumb like King Koopa in the mario bros movie if you ask me but I have a full blown head shaved to the skin mohawk

i was very tempted to do the same recently.

and i agree on those daft things people do

I'll get some pics up by the weekend. I have to go borrow my dad's camera first.

My four year old had one ... he was three. It was adorable. His dad was an interstate trucker and not home a whole lot. My son is the one who suggested it. He even wanted it dyed green (that I didn't go for). It took me longer to spike up his mohawk than get the other three kids and myself ready to go somewhere.

Then his dad stopped driving over the road and cut it all off because my son got "too much attention".

I cut his hair the other day and he asked me to give him a mohawk again. his hair is soooo short now. I told him I couldn't do that, but I will cut it in a style we could alter into a mohawk once it got a little longer. :wink

There's pictures in the picture forum on here.

Nevermind the hickey on my shoulder. Tee-hee!

Eh. Mohawks are cool, but I'm diggin' on your 30 lbs ago style. Personal preference.

I'm digging he has "Plasticity" as his profile song ...

I does you justice, and you can't say that about everyone who wears a mohawk....ya gotta have a good head shape! :fun:

Thank you :) I've gotten many compliments on it from friends.. Though, the fam doesn't like it. But of course, until I start wearing khakis and izods my family will never like the way I look. Heh.

Yah my family says I look like I am ready for a funeral everyday of the year........me and my kids. Heh. I guess we do. Wearing all black is just so much easier......I don't have to think about matching and can spill food on myself. Heehee!

I didn't think you had the head to pull a mohawk off... I stand corrected... looks good man.

That ain't no weak-ass mohawk. :thumbup::thumbup:

Looks good.

Props for totally shaving the rest

Miss my mohawk dreadfully now. But that was 1984; I'd just look silly at this point (greying hawk, spectacles, cane.... sheesh). Do they make orthopedic combat boots? ;)

Kick ass,looks awsome!!!

I have like, a full head of hair but I fold it into a faux-hawk...it works...

Love it, Brian. You look great!

Well it didn't last long. I have to shave it probably Tuesday. Had to do an interview with an Army Captain and the fucker told me to shave it and my goatee before I go swear in. I don't see why I should have to shave it but I have to now. I was hoping to keep it till January when I ship out but I guess not. I guess I'll have to get used to officers and their bullshit games cuz I've got a long time in the military ahead of me.
