The reason for delay is all because im not getting a PS3 before 2007.

PS3 IS love

It's causing a complete uproar. While I was at GameStop earlier the clerk was telling me that one of their employee's threatened to quit his job if he didn't have the PS3 when it's slated to be released. Talk about your ultimatums.

I will eventually get it, but for now I'm gonna wait until the price drops.

All the problems they've been having with the Jap launch seem like a red flag. I mean... 600 bucks and it's not even backward compatible like the last gen? They really dropped the ball. Nintendo's gonna win this battle, methinks.

What? It's not backwards compatible? That's been a big selling point on the Sony's (PS1 and PS2) all along ... ... what is this world coming to?

Just gotta ask........

is the xbox360 worth all of $400.00?

My husband is killing me with this request.

ugh....puts away another "gaming system" to collect dust....

Well, they were promising it, but now they've found that it won't work with *some* PS1 and 2 games. Not sure how many equal "some."

Once we were happy,

Inside I felt all sappy....

Then everything got crappy.....

Now I need a nappy.

Fuck it. I hate you.

How's that?

I'm looking forward to the new PS3 and the Nintendo's Wii. However I never understand why anyone over 20 still goes insanely apeshit for this. It's all a marketing scam, the newest and greatest shit, RIGHT before christmas, AND it's in LIMITED QUANTITY... so they can charge more than normal to meet demand. This isn't a need, or even a strong desire to me, as I'm still just as entertained wtih an origional 8 bit nintendo, and my PS2. I never liked X-Box stuff. And the gamecube was a bit dissapointing to me. I am afraid however, that if the PS3 isn't reversable like the PS2 is (meaning you can play PS1, 2, and 3 games on it) then any desire to own one will be lost.... unless they come out with a Final Fantasy game that looks awsome! (really, the only FF games i've ever had an interest in long enough to play all the way through has been 6 and 7. I've not even beaten 6 yet because I keep loosing the rom on my emulator everytime I manage to beat the floating island where Kefka whomps the emporer... grrr... I cannot die until i see the ending of FFVI!!!!! That's more important to me at the moment than caring about the PS3, though it is still on my wish list of things I'd like to have someday.

Not cool. What would it take to throw in a little extra old junk to make it work, kwim?

thanks for the post rayne, now i know to wait until they come out with the newer model that can play ALL PS1 & 2 games. And by the time the new modeled PS3 comes out, it'll be cheaper, and less of a craze, until then, I'll sit happy and content with my PS2

Ok.. so the ps3 is already at pawn shops... I have a feeling there's going to be alot of dissapointed kiddies come christmas mourning when they realize their new console isn't as good as hyped up to be.

... I don't think I'll ever figure out which game system I want ... To the point of I may never get one.

I played some Wii last night. The game that's included with it has a variety of sports games. Tennis, bowling, golf, baseball, and boxing, i think that's it.

We (hahahah) only played baseball, boxing, and golf, but it was aweeeeesome and fun. I can't wait to see what they do with this system.

I still say 360 will win with their centralized online presence.

When you say "win," do you mean sell the most units this holiday season? No way.

Or when you say "win," do you mean it'll be the only console standing after the other two companies go bankrupt or divert their resources away from video game consoles? Probably not within our lifetimes.

I'm gonna put my money on Wii for this battle, that it'll grab a big fat market share and the next gens are going to try to follow its lead without sacrificing graphics and physics. Maybe Sony will get their act back together by then and really wow us in 2009 or whenever.

I have to disagree, other game consoles have tried the online thing before, all the way back to the super nintendo (and I THINK that's the first game console to try internet in America)

But the harsh reality of it is, when it comes to extra features, Americans don't like them. I'm also talking about those "supporter" systems, like Sega's 32X. They go great in Japan, however the demand in America to buy a system that needed another system to operate, prooved unpopular, wich is one reason why Sega bit the dust a while ago and just sticks with making video games now.

Another big reason why Sega went under in america is because the programming was extremely difficult for game makers to work with compared to other game console programming language, wich resulted in not that great of a selection of games unless you like sports and puzzle games.

But back to subject, it's going to be a close call for all 3 systems. X-Box being popular by some weird form of media hype... Playstation for having Squaresoft on their side and garunteeing a great selection of video games. And nintendo, it's always been a big drive. It was king of systems for the longest, and although it's not always king anymore, it always seems to be 2nd...

This is my prediction to what will be the order of popularity...

Playstation in first, X-Box in 2nd, and Nintendo in a close third.

No, it was super nintendo, I remember seeing the thing to do it at babbages when i was a kid, and would just drool and dream of playing mario kart with players online via my supernintendo. And there's certain major game producers that don't sleep with microsoft as much as they do with Sony, squaresoft being one of these. And there's alot of famous game titles out there that are owned by the concole's company, such as mario, zelda, ect. all that money and power has not helped them stomp out any competition, it only lets them saturate the market with their garbage so people will buy the damn thing since everything else is sold out.

I will give Sega props for having the FIRST game with 3D. It was in sonic's 1, 2, and 3, and always the quest for chaos emeralds. Nintendo was 2nd, but they made Starfox, the first game that was completely 3D all the way through.
