Homicidalheathen Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 My kids have a friend who is a emo posing as a goth. How do I know? His whimpy ass music tastes and attitude give him away.
Troy Spiral (13) Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Emo is almost a replica of how goth became goth in a very broad sense. Sort of like maybe what would have happened if goth never did. Goth started out as post-punk/punk-newwave with a darker spin. Emo is a post-punk movement with a darker spin without the direct line to the horror genres. Certianly not the same but there are a lot of similairities. Emo is much less of a "lifestyle" than goth is , and is typcially less historical/literary minded. Taken with a grain of salt and a very lose concept of what goth is, emo could be considered goth. A buddy of mine used to say: "Emo is for people without the balls to admit they are goth in public" lol

Hellion Posted November 15, 2006 Author Posted November 15, 2006 I bet emos feel almost the exact same way about goths. And this is why arguments always start on DGN.IMO Now lets get back to what this topic was actually all about
BrassFusion Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Uh... emos are whiny losers who are too insecure to follow their own sense of style or have tastes independent of their social circle?
torn asunder Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Uh... emos are whiny losers who are too insecure to follow their own sense of style or have tastes independent of their social circle? wow... pretty much describes anyone who claims to fit in to any sort of "crowd"...
BrassFusion Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 wow... pretty much describes anyone who claims to fit in to any sort of "crowd"... Once again, you TOTALLY get me.
StrayBullet42 Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 Uh... emos are whiny losers who are too insecure to follow their own sense of style or have tastes independent of their social circle? Only problem with that is if someone looks hard enough, anyone following their own sense can be clasifyed into a social circle weather they like it or not.
BrassFusion Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 Only problem with that is if someone looks hard enough, anyone following their own sense can be clasifyed into a social circle weather they like it or not. Whereupon they can be rubberstamped and rejected by every other circle. Which is just what the establishment wants from us, I'm sure.

BrassFusion Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 To bad we are not in charge of the establishment. No single person or special interest group is, i'm not a conspiracy theorist, REALLY!
