Homicidalheathen Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 So this guy I know wants me to come over and start working on him with something again. Well, I would but I am having second thoughts. I am not getting paid. It will just be for enjoyment and maybe I will get something out of it in other ways. So here is the thing. Everytime we work together he has to take over or try to run the show or tell you what to do even if it is your area of expertise. Everyone has noticed this it isn't just me. But we do like doing things like this with the guy cause he is good at it. I have tried just telling him to back off and so has everyone else but he can't control himself. I don't know if I should do it cause if I start then stop because its getting to me then I will look like a quiter.
torn asunder Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 start off by setting well-defined boundaries/guidelines - if/when he deviates, offer him one reminder. if he continues, tell him you're done, then walk away. (personally, i'd walk away permanently, since if that were to happen it would show that he had no respect for me as a person or my feelings/desires. but that's just me - i have little patience for that kindof thing...
Homicidalheathen Posted November 14, 2006 Author Posted November 14, 2006 Yah, I'll say something in the beginning like, let me do this my way or I can't do it....that should work.
