Heh heh. Yep, it's very cute and sweet, but I worry about cats like that.

I don't let my cat outside, but somehow I like to know that if something happened and she escaped that she'd be able to kill and eat a mouse or something. Somehow I don't like cats as much when their natural instincts have been bred out of them.

It's the wildness I suppose I like.

My other cat, Max, was a big softie like that kitten. He was a stray I adopted so I don't know his history. He may have been a show cat or something at one time, but he looked exactly like one of those norwegian forest cats. Once a field mouse got in and he just sat and looked at it, then backed away fearfully. My other kitty grabbed it, killed it and ate it before I could get the door open to sweep it outside.

OK I'm usually pretty anti-kawai but that's str8 adorable...

here's another one along those lines...

Onyx you never know... cats can just be goofy sometimes. My cats were born to a mom who hunted and both regularly caught birds by the time they were 6 months. So I felt bad when they had to become apartment kitties, & one day bought them a mouse for a treat. I put it on the floor and cats & mouse just stood there & stared at each other. Lynx finally reached out & touched it w/one paw, it squeaked loudly, and both cats jumped back in surprise, then looked at me like "Duh, whadda we do now, mom?" I ended up releasing the damn thing outside. But now they're outside kitties again, they're back to hunting. I've been told that because the mouse didn't immediately run from them, their pursuit issue wasn't triggered so they kind of didn't know how to deal with it. So... something similar may be going on w/the kitten in the pics. Or then again it may be just what it looks like- kitty was taken from its mama too early & hasn't learned to hunt (isn't entirely instinctive behavior) or just needs to cuddle w/another warm furry body.

i used to have a rtabbit that saw of the nieghberhood dogs and only i could get near it to pick it up. anyone else would be bitten or kicked... except my dog and myself.

i had a dachund that the rabbit used to play with
