honeymustard02 Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 I ordered a ring that I LOVE off of gothautions likr 2 weeks ago. I finally got it today. Well I am totally bummed. She sent it in one of those prority mailing evelopes for letters. Well I opened it up and the band to the ring is totally squished!!!! So I wrote her back asking how this can be resolved. Now I must wait for an answer.
Fierce Critter Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 That's too bad. Hope she does something to remedy the situation. I rarely sell jewelry. But ANYTHING small I ship goes in a box of some kind. I don't even like shipping CD's in bubble envelopes, though I do. But if people want priority mail, I use their VHS shipping boxes and lots of padding.
Brenda Starrr Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 I had won a pair of black velour sweatpants from a seller on Ebay. They were scanned in at the post office, who said that I received them. I never did. I was home that whole week, and they never came. I emailed her, and she was more than willing to help me. Not many people are that cool. I hope that this seller helps you!
honeymustard02 Posted March 5, 2005 Author Posted March 5, 2005 She still hasn't emailed me back. This is pretty much something on her end because of the way it was shipped. There was no protection for the ring. *crosses fingers* I'll keep hoping.
Nienna Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 I recently spent $150 on a corset on Ebay. I got it and it was cheaply boned with this plastic crap. I emailed her and told her I wanted my moeny back, it was misrepresented. She shot back all these insults and left me dneagtive feedback! So I reported her to Paypal and hopefully will get at least some of my money back. GAH!
Fierce Critter Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 Oy, vey. I try DAMNED hard to be honest with my descriptions. I REALLY don't like to disappoint a customer by sending them something other than what they thought they were getting. I'd rather be honest about the description, and get less bids than gamble on possibly having to submit a refund. The negative feedback thing is a major pain in the ass. I have a total of 3 I think. One was from this guy who was incredibly rude, threatening & explosively violent in his e-mails regarding a product that got held up in the mail and turned out not to be what I thought it was (I was a new seller at the time and had some things to learn about the kind of research I have to do to make sure I know what I'm selling). A simple e-mail telling me this stuff would have resulted in a total refund without ANY delay on my part. But he was in the mood to be nasty. Even after I submitted a PayPal refund, he was sending me incredibly vehement e-mails claiming I hadn't done so. Turns out, he didn't realize he had to transfer the money from his PayPal account INTO his bank account before the money would show up there. I never even got an apology from him after I explained that to him and he realized he had had his money all along. After that, I made my feedback policy reciprocal. If I get good feedback, I leave good feedback. This keeps people who are in bad moods from taking it out on me in this way. I've gotten a couple other negatives since instating that policy, and haven't used my own method as a way of getting "revenge" on these people by leaving negative for negative. Even though one of those negatives was from a guy who insisted I needed to give him feedback - and then when I directed him to my 3-year old reciprocal policy, he left me negative feedback for that! Ebay has since changed things a bit. Whereas before there was no rescinding of feedback, now if there's a dispute and the parties work things out, you can mutually agree to withdraw the negative or neutral rating. The comments stay, but you can add a response explaining what transpired to anyone who's looking at the feedback. Sigh. I just listed my first item in months this past week. Ended up realizing there was a boo-boo in the description, and canceled the 3 bids that were there, fixed the auction, and then someone purchased the item using the restored buyitnow. Got someone complaining that they didn't get to bid on the item due to this! I mean, come on! Better I did that than they end up with something other than what they thought they were bidding on. Sigh. SOmetimes I hate this business. Honestly - it's crap like this that makes me miss working in an office environment. Customer service is such a dance.
Nienna Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 Yeah. I hear that. I have like 8 negs, all mostly retalitory from people who were non paying bidders or morons like this chick. It sucks that they can do that because it makes you look badeven if it isn't actually warranted. If I made enough at my job I could quit selling on Ebay. For now I have to just to get by. Ugh.
