RosyBlue Posted December 6, 2006 Author Posted December 6, 2006 i hear millapeades are some of the worlds most toxic and venomous critters you can ever lose in your house. You're thinking of a centipede. They're neat, but I wouldn't want one. I'm scared of scorpians. One of the few animals I am afraid of. I've heard of people keeping a preying mantis as a pet. That would be another pet I'd like to have, but I don't want to have to deal with buying crickets again. I used to have to get them for my bearded dragon.
cptdeath Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 bearded dragons are cool. veitnamese centipeades are highly venomous and easily the most aggresive thing i've ever seen at pet stores. if they notice movemeant of any kind the go crazy to attack relentlessly. a shodow across the floor a drip of water a customer walking by a hand waving anything moves an they run at it head first thats why there in a plastic dish inside of an aquarium with bricks on it. part of the arachnid family (i've learned to despise spiders) they are carnivorous eating mostly rodents an small reptiles. did i mention highly venomous. and around 20$ a pop it makes a great surprise for unsuspecting off duty enimies. not that i would stoop so low personely. scorpians are really dumb. make decent pets though. I'm talking the big black rainforest ones also about 20$. once i had one so big an dumb it walked into the water dish an did not notice it was drowning. it drowned unexpectedly an with out noticing it was drowning. it just sat there till it died. watching them fight was crazy. after three good stings the scorpian would shake an spasm like a manual transmission stalling out. its body would rock on its legs violently. but after a quick initial skirmish they establish a social bond. often new comers would be assailed by the group as a whole sort of a beat in. there was one rouge scorpian who was slimmer faster an more mallicious then the rest. usually he would walk from one to the other scorpians an attack broadside down a hill or from above get a quick sting or two in an move to the next fat lazy scorpian. all scorpians glow brilliantly in a black light. they have a different metabalism then you would expect. generally they remain hidden an idle for a month an feed very rarley as an opertunist not a hunter. so in captivity with an abundence of ready food they don't know how to act. if you get they opertunity to watch a scorpian feed you should. it's quite horrable to watch actually. yeah you think oh crickets whatever. but then you se it an hope you never die that way. their face unfolds like the predator movie an little pincers come out as it shoves the half crushed pray toward its mouth. then slowley it turns bits of the struggling cricket into mashed potatoes as it strugles for freedom. this process takes along time. ew spiders. also i learned the other day hippoes an whales are sister species only slightly different. from this fossil discovery of a prehistoric whale with ankles an feet matching a hippoes. they started to study if hippoes had complex language like they found in whales. yes they do they are also the only animal that verbally comunicates anphibiously speaking in air an water at once with the same breath to each other. the social behavior of hippoes is the same as whales.
