AntiHero Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Things I miss from the 80's. My oldschool Casio Databank Calculator watch (got a new one recently), and MEGAMAN 2 (fortunately Capcom made a collection). I also had the Rodimus Prime, but lost him when I moved to Trenton. Still have Soundwave.
Gothmama25 Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Here is something I miss from the 80s. My Colecovision game system. It was so simple yet seemed so high-tech back then. Anybody else have one of these back in the 80s?
Der Nister Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Here is something I miss from the 80s. My Colecovision game system. It was so simple yet seemed so high-tech back then. Anybody else have one of these back in the 80s? My family got one of them for x-mas 1982 and it was the king shit back then. Considering that that technology was new it kept us in front of the t.v. for hours every weekend. I can almost remember all the games we had.
DarkVampire Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 G.I. Joe figures and the Atari 2600. Still have both.
Msterbeau Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 How could I list it if I forgot about it?
Rayne Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 My mom tried to solder(sp?)the power cord to our Atari 2600 back together when our dog chewed threw it ... it proceeded to blow up when it was plugged back in. I miss it ... but I still have THIS: (That's Intellivision for those of you in the younger generations) hiding somewhere in my parents attic. http://www.intellivisionlives.com/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intellivision
Rayne Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 We had this too: RCA's CED SelectaVision ... really big disc's encased in a plastic holder that you jammed it in and pulled it out and flipped a weird switchy thing, like in the link below. The things were the size of records. I remember watching the Muppets on it. http://www.zippyvideos.com/2564745741552916/watching-us/
pharoh Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I had them systems too, but I miss nintendo the most. When super mario bros 3 first came out they had the Nintendo World Championship at Cobo.....Where I ranked 26 out of everyone....I wanna say that was in 89
Rayne Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 I had them systems too, but I miss nintendo the most. When super mario bros 3 first came out they had the Nintendo World Championship at Cobo.....Where I ranked 26 out of everyone....I wanna say that was in 89 My mom has my regular Nintendo and my SNES at work in her classroom, which she hasn't been there and won't be there for awhile. I need to get them back ...

Dubh Aingeal Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 a betamax didn't have this exact one i am sure and no i don't miss it but i am sure "betamax" is one of those forgotten things Not too forgotten. One of my co-workers still has his and uses it.
JaneDead Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 that's pretty funny. i remember going in the store to rent movies the whole store was vhs and one wall was beta. then our mary poppins tape got stuck in it and never came out so we could only watch that. then the house was robbed and they took our beta max. i hope they liked mary poppins too. one thing maybe not forgotten but maybe not even known by some - was when you could go to the town club store and mix match bottles of pop. i remember doing that a few times for parties.
Rayne Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 My little brother still has our betamax player, and occasionally uses it.
sass_in_the_pants Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Only the girls will remember this... but there was this store called Units, and they sold these elastic knit things that you were SUPPOSED to be able to wear as a mini-skirt, or a tube top, or a belt They were so stupid. I think I had like four. And there was NO WAY that something that was big enough to cover my ass would be small enough to be worn as a belt. And I think they came in glow colors, too. So, okay, does ANYONE remember this?

I think I can remember a couple of houses that I lived in and I'm pretty sure I moved to Colorodo and ran a pool hall for a while, and oh yeah! I did give birth a couple of times, but other than that it's all pretty much a blur. I think I'm better now though...maybe.
