Fierce Critter Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Well some people wouldn't make it go that fast.....much lol. But, the knowledge that the capability is there under yer right foot, can be a confidence, ego, and morale boost to some. Sounds like a virtual penis enlarger to me. A very expensive one.
torn asunder Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Sounds like a virtual penis enlarger to me. A very expensive one. yes, but isn't it HUGE!!! :peanutbutterjellytime
Gaf The Horse With Tears Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 it has more in common with why people climb Mt. Everest... to see if they can... The Bugati is a good example. VW group wanted to prove they had the best engineers in the world. So, They spent 10 of millions of dollars on R&D and came up with the Veryon 16. Granted.. The cars caost between 5 and 6 million to make... and they sell for only 1.3 million. VW Group is loosing money on every one they sell... and they are making 300 of them. What they have is a big shining #1 symbol. They built a car that can do 250+mph. It can go from 0-60mph in 2.5 seconds. But the big break through is this... anyone can drive it. It drives like a normal every day car.
Msterbeau Posted December 6, 2006 Author Posted December 6, 2006 But the big break through is this... anyone can drive it. It drives like a normal every day car. Until the car drives itself as well as a pro racing driver, any claim like this will be patently false. After one season of racing, I was a FAR better driver then when I had begun. Even after years of racing I would treat the Bug with some serious respect. 99% of the driving population would kill themselves pushing the envelope in it. However, if you mean that you can putter around like a "normal" car. Good drivability, in other words. That I totally believe. It's remarkable how docile todays supercars *can* be.
Gaf The Horse With Tears Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Actually... every review I have read, from Pop-Sci to Automotive to Car & Driver all had the same response to the car after drving it. They were all shocked about how a car with 1001 horse power, enough torque to pull down a mountain and the acceraltion of the Joint Strike Fighter drives just like an average family car. I was pretty sure I was clear on that when I said it drives like a normal every day car. Oh, and to get the car to actually go into performance mode you have to stop it, put the key into a different igniotion and turn it. Then the car is allowed to go into top performance mode (That means you can go over 195mph)
