The Panasonic Brand Name

I think most of you know I started a new job working at Panasonic a week ago. I have my own thoughts on what I think about the brand. I'm curious what others think. When you hear the name "Panasonic", what does that mean to you in terms of quality, image, etc...??

You can leave a response here or just PM me.

I had a Panasonic stereo. My little brother took it from me when I moved out the first time, saying to my mom I gave it to him. (yeah right!! I paid a l ot of money for it and it had a 5 disc changer!)

I moved out in 1998, it was about a year old ... he still has it. It still works.

So I'd say overall, my impression is pretty good.

.... I can't ever recall owning anything else by Panasonic.

Hollow-sounding car stereos are the first thing that come to my mind.

Matsushita has always kinda pissed me off. They have always made good optical drives if you can get past the short life span. As for other electronics.. same thing.. good products with short life times.

If I'm not mistaken, Panasonic now owns or has taken over the Technics brand.

I'm a big fan of Technics. Panasonic? Not so much.

If I find a good deal on a used TV or something like that, I'll pick it up regardless of the brand. But Panasonic wouldn't be my first choice.

Car Radios and tv's you bet. I aggree with Mark on the Drives though...good while they last. I mark them about above average. If I had to buy a sony car radio or a Panasonic, I would choose panasonic.

i've always had good experiences with Panasonic products...had a cd player in my car that played everything perfectly, hooked up well and easily into my system, and lived through a bad run-in with a deer...so i'd have to say i have a really good opinion of them...

I think you're whoring out the PANASONIC name on DGN, and would be doing the same if you worked for SONY, TOSHIBA, DELL, or FORD. Thus methink's this makes you a human billboard and tool of corporate greed and consumer oppression. Though I have had no problems with my superior quality, moderately priced, top-of- the-line PANASONIC products. I would consider buying a PANASONIC brand name product in the future.

Seriously though, no gripes with the products, haven't purchased many electronics, but the PANASONIC stuff that is around the house hasn't exactly been seen as garbage. I think of them as being on a similar tier to Sony, Toshiba, and all the others. IMO.

When I was a kid, we had a 19in Panasonic B/W TV, lasted years. I feel confident about the brand.

Car audio I haven't really gone too much "in depth with yet".

Car audio I think of Kenwood, Pioneer, Sony and Rockford Fosgate.

Panasonic doesn't even cross my mind at that thought.

panasonic elecs. its gonna work. but not blow your mind

panasonic batteries. dont buy, go to the £ store and buy cheapies, they'll last longer

panasonic is a brand that just works, they dont fail on you after a week like other brands but dont blow your mind on how well they do it, nor can they take sustained abuse for long. but thier well priced here. if i cant stretch to a japanese made sony a panasonic will do as well as a taiwanese made sony
