I Need Something Like Dreamsuite Putty

Basically, I need a plug-in for Photoshop CS that allows you to warp, skew and reshape pictures and related graphics in Photoshop with a lot more control points than their built-in transformations allow.

I have a copy of DreamSuite with the Putty program, but you can't work in layers unless you actually purchase the program and then get the upgrade to their Pro version. So this basically helps me not at all.

An example of what I need to do: I'm creating clothing for avatars in Second Life. I have detailed templates, on which I want to, say, drop a photo of an actual pair of gloves. But I need something that will allow me to reshape the photo of the glove to fit the contours of the template. With Dreamsuite Pro & Putty, I could drop the photo of the glove into a layer that's partially transparent so I can see the template layer underneath and then reshape the glove photo to fit the template.

Any suggestions? I've done some googling for shareware, freeware and anyware to see if there's something else that does this, but thusfar I'm only finding things that have built-in preset warps, not that allow you to reshape like say Illustrator or CorelDraw does vector graphics. And I'm really unsure of search terms to use.
