Fierce Critter Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Well, it's in the works anyway. Just did our taxes online, and in 8-15 days or so, we should have our refunds, which are surprisingly substantial this year. Enough for the deposits on a new place. Just have to FIND a place now. We'll be staying in Wyandotte. We're in no hurry, and it's good to be able to take our time. We were desperate when we took this place. I was still in NC, and Jon was living with my parents starting his new job. I'd been on my own down there for almost 3 weeks, and I'm usually the one who's best at doing things like house-hunting. So we took the first thing available. Our landlords are from hell. The place is too small, and there are NO DOORS on the rooms, so we can't shut out the animals EVER. The block is loaded with inconsiderate assholes who beep their horns all day and night. And the topper - a guy who used to live here before just moved back into the center unit, and the loser who lives in the back unit considers center unit guy a MAJOR LOSER. And he is - he's been blasting bass stereo every night around 2:00 a.m. until I finally had to go downstairs and knock on his door last night. Time to get out. We want at least a 2 bedroom, WITH doors, somewhere near downtown Wyandotte. The stickler is going to be the pets. This is going to be such a relief. I hope it doesn't take too long to find something.
sass_in_the_pants Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Two bedroom WITH doors? AND neighbors who aren't assholes? SOMEONE is a little demanding! Seriously, happy hunting!

Fierce Critter Posted January 29, 2007 Author Posted January 29, 2007 Possible change of plans. We might try to buy instead of rent. Our credit is fucked-a-mundo. But we may be able to squeak by by paying off a couple debts with the money we were going to use for a rental, and if we can get the mortgage company that incorrectly listed our house sale as a foreclosure to correct it. Won't know until we talk to a mortgage broker. Already have a house in mind. Not the perfect situation, but a HELL of a lot better than renting.
