So... on Wednesday... I got fired, along with my employees. The man that owns the compnay is a clueless piece of shit. Our sales numbers have been droppong steadaliy for the last year and half. The fact that Michigan's economy is tanking means nothing to him. The fact that the farther you go North in Michigan... the more factorys and businesses you see closing thier doors.. the grape and cherry crops failing... the tourism industry crashing because noone has money and there was no snow or iced over lakes for a few months... they meaning nothing to him... He actually said that... "the local economy should have no affect on your sales" Excuse me? It's a god damn retail store. How the fuck can you possibly think that the local economy will have no affect on your sales? Clueless, narrow minded, egotistical peon that isn't worthy to lick the clingons out of my ass hair. I just want to drive to Colorado and beat that poor excuse for a man till I am nearly dead...

On a brighter note... I knew this was coming... this is what he does. I am talkingwith an investor and it looks like I may just be running that slimey bottom feeder out of business.

way to go! But seriously, it's not just him... it seems ALL businesses can't seem to figure out why their sales are going low... it's because they took away all the jobs, and what jobs remain here, they pay as close to minimum wage as possible, not ever anything higher. Then the prices of everything else goes up, like rent, bills ect... the cost of living is rediculous. And none of these businesses seem to get it, that WE AINT GOT NO MONEY ANYMORE!!! Goodluck with running him out of business, we do need to start crucifying some of these greedy slobs (crucifying as a metephore) make em live like one of us and maybe they'll wake up and smell the bullshit they make us live in.

I am not sorry.

I'm sorry you're temporarily unemployed. But as you said about meeting with an investor, I have full faith that you will actually do better for this.

Good luck, and when you make those billions of dollars from your new business venture, I'll take a little place on Lake Michigan somewheres on the LeLanau. :D THANKS!!!! :D :D :D ;)

Good luck to you brutha.

what type of business will y ou be pursuing?

Damn. Sorry to hear you got fired, but I have to agree with Critter.

This just may be the best thing to ever happen to you. It'll probably be more work, but once you get it going it could be much much better than working for someone else.

Best wishes on your new venture.

Steven, I know how to do two things really well. Prostitution is still illegal, so I guess it will be a computer shop.

FC and Onyx… That’s what my wife says. This is most likely the best thing that has happened to me in years.

Life goes on

Thanks peeps

Marc... honestly.. I kid you not... the day I got fired... I thought "I wonder if Marc knows of any good jobs in Kentucky..."

We have thought about moving out of Michigan. I don't really want to. I like where I live. Ofcourse... there are Mountains I could walk and swamps I could explore. I feel comfortable in the wilds here though. I know whats there and whats not. When I need to be alone and collect myself.. I walk the woods and swamps. I know that anything that I might encounter... well, I can handle it. Hell, I've found myself being tracked by a pack of coyote.. I've stared across a small stream into the eyes of a wolf... I've tracked a couger... until I realized finding it might not be a good idea... I can cross swamps that people have never come back out of. Drank from a natural artesion well. I like it here. I fear I may one day be forced to leave. I don't look forward to it.

Leaving "home" is never easy. Especially if you've been there for a long time.

Seriously... I was talking to the couple who run the B&B I stayed at my first night moving down here. Super nice people... Anyways, The husband mentioned during a conversation about his new job that there seemed to be a lot of work available in the area. If you need it... I'll press him on the subject and ask around elsewhere and see what the situation is. Not sure about computer places... but your management skills are probably transferable, right?

I got fired once.. it was great.

Seriously, I was let go back in October for being sick. I even had a doctors note. I worked my ass off for that company for 5 years. I'm still bitter over it. Oh well.

Best of luck to you.

Mark, take it from someone who's been there. DO NOT MOVE SOUTH OF MICHIGAN IF YOU LOVE THIS KIND OF LIFE.

I was an outdoor freak in Michigan. Roaming woods, especially in the area you live and further north. You couldn't get me out of a lake if I found one. Etc.

Life in NC was hell for someone like me. The woods are filled with nasty bugs that can make you seriously ill or kill you. There are a lot more dangerous snakes south of the Ohio border. And MASSIVE SCARY SPIDERS.

Don't go. Just don't.

My company is booming. It appears that we were seemingly needed in Michigan. And I'll be up there as of March in the Management Training Program.

Now, if an even better opportunity were to present itself to me, I'd be on it like white on rice.

Mark, I have every bit of faith that you're going to succeed. You're too smart and talented not to. Good luck.

I can agree with that!

I really think Michigan has much much more to offer as far as life outdoors.

I also think if you really pour yourself into building a business that you'll end up being a success, even if you have to work a crappy part time job on the side while you build it. It's worth giving it a good go if you can - after all, you did very well building someone else's business!
