Well, for what it's worth here's my two cents. There are many people in this world who believe in such things. There are also many people in this world who believe that people who believe in such things are nuts. Personally, I don't care what camp a person is in, but it just so happens that I have a very true and strange story about exorcism, and well, I'm in a sharing type of mood so here goes:

When I was 13 my family, who were practicing fundamentalist Christians, believed that I had become possessed because the baby got sick and my brother-in-law got a flat tire. The connection to me as the possessie was made because of an "OMNI" magazine that had been found in my room during a "routine" search which contained an article on witchcraft. So...they got their local heads of households and a priest together and performed an exorcism on me. It was the stupidest thing I think I have ever been witness to. The main thing I remember about the entire event was thinking to myself, "God, I wish I could make a lamp fly across the room right now. That would so fuck up their heads" Seriously people, I shit you not.

So it was after my "cleansing" that about a year later they found out I was still reading stuff that had to do with the occult, and god forbid, I was actually interested in "darker" things than they were comfortable with and to top it off, I asked them questions about their faith that they had a hard time justifying so...once again the exorcism was performed. Finally, when they realized that what they were doing was only pissing me off (I started to act up in negative ways) and making their lives miserable, they had me sent away to a state facility until I was 17. Gotta love them fundamentalists right? If we can't cure you we'll lock you away and pretend that you don't exist. Anyway, the story doesn't end horribly. I was emancipated when I turned 17, after I was refused a home from my family upon release from the state correctional center and my brother-in-law had tried to take control of my pay checks, stating I was unable to be trusted with my own money. The judge actually laughed at him and asked him how it was that he thought I was responsible enough to be turned out on the street by my family but not responsible enough to provide for myself. So, there you have it. Long story made short. There are many people out there who think possession really happens, there are those who use it as an excuse to create their own comfortable reality, and there are those who think that the people who believe it are nuts. Like I said, I don't care what camp someone falls into as long as they leave me out of it until that is, I can learn to make a lamp fly across the room using only my mind. True Story.

And this is exactly what infuriates people so much, and what makes my job of having some sort of semblence of credibility as a psudo judeo christian that much harder.

But I have seen lamps (and other things) fly across the room all on their own.

as well as blankets being stretched hard across my throat so I couldent breathe

and my feet being yanked up to the ceiling while my chest was pinned down....voices, flashes of light, slaps in the face.....those kinds of things and alot more, with witnesses present......group psychosis / suggestion I know....chemical imbalances in my skull tissue, I know, plain good old USA Bullshit I know.....

all of which are not indicitive of possession by the way but instead are indicitive of harrassment.

and from what I gather.....actual possession is much more of an invitaion only type of situation.

Yeah, he sounds like he has a serious mental illness, maybe schizophrenia.

This part, assuming what he is talking about was real, is not even logical at all.

even though he doesn't believe in Archangels.....he called on two of them and they came and took it for him.

If he doesn't believe in them - why would he ask them for help?

He might even be dangerous. I'd be backing away slowly and make sure I didn't cross paths with him again.

god, i'd ALMOST BELIVE this because i've actually seen some weird ass shit... but to be honest.. I still say it's from goofy military barracks plumbing...

...the day my toilet was "possessed" I just got to my room from a 3 mile formation run, about to hop in the shower when i had to take a leak... i flushed... but nothing happend... a couple bubbles came up from the bottom.. i tried flushing again... the toilet growled at me... so i started bitching at it and slammed on the flush handle numerous times... at that time, the water just slowly drained down until the toilet bowl was empty... next thing i know, it snarls and a bunch of red foam shit exploded from the bowl at me, covering the entire bathroom... including myself... with such an awful combination of piss, shit, and dead rotting flesh... i got pissed.. I grabbed my E-tool (an issued shovel) and beat the fuck outta the toilet until i broke the porcelin.. took a shower.. and was late to formation because of the incidence... when asked why i was late, i almost had a chance to explain until the other SGT who was inspecting rooms (this was friday, after field day, room inspection day on friday) came up and started screaming at me about the toilet... taking all the words right out of my mouth... i then turned to the SSGT who asked why i was late, and i said... well... prettymuch what SGT said... it happened when i tried flushing it after our run...

needless to say... i was the only person in that room... and i got away with it as they were all superstitious and knew my "dark", and "gothy" ways...

... also, the person who lived in the room before me hung himself in it...

... but i know it's still the barracks cheap ass plumbing...

See, I don't count the spider incident. I'm afraid of spiders and one day I stepped on one, with my shoes on of course. Well, that instant I felt a surge of energy run from my foot through my body. If I wasn't a pacifist before that... But, I don't see that as posession- more like a push in a better direction.

Now that's interesting, I've only heard of one story about Lillith before these, and it's not included, so draco this is for you... Sorry I can't give you a reference to this story, however I purely forgot what book it was I read this in....

Lillith, Adam's first wife, was created from clay, just like Adam. She was made by God, who did this after Adam got lonely seeing the animals have mates.

Since Lillith wasn't created from Adam, she wasn't entirely compadible to her husband... She did however fall in love with God, and supposedly they had an intimate relationship behind Adam's back for a time before God realized how wrong it was to do this to his own creation, Adam, who he felt like a father to.. So he Banished Lillith out of the Garden of Eden and created a new mate for Adam. However, while God was having this affair with Lillith, he did teach her "magic", sort of passing along some of his knowledge to make life ect...

This is how she survived outside Eden. Not much else of Lillith was told in this version of the legend until Cain and Able were born..

As cain and able's story unfolded, (sparing details) Cain eventually Killed his brother Able, not out of jealousy so much, but a twisted way to please God...

...but obviously it backfired and Cain was banished...

God would send one angel after another to find Cain and ask him to beg for forgiveness, once he did, he'd be able to go back to Eden, however Cain had too much pride and felt he was not at fault, that God should appologize to him... Each time he said this, each angel would put a curse on him until he beared similar characteristics of what vampires are like (there is one book very similar to this, it's a silly Role Playing book, called "The book of Nod") During Cain's banishment, he did encounter Lillith... I can't remember clearly exactly what they did together, I think she tried trapping him, or something...

If I ever find the story again, I will send it to you Draco. But thankyou for posting that, that offered probably better and more "true" theories of what may have happened than the story I posted.
