Fierce Critter Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 I've never read a single Ghost Rider. I have no prior knowledge of his story. But I know there's at least one member on here who obviously knows something about GR. So I'm wondering, what are people who DO know something about GR thinking about the movie coming out and Nicholas Cage playing GR? Something tells me the opinions will be - pardon the expression - inflammatory.
Head Wreck Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 the dark is a big GR fan. unfortunatly he no longer frequents here
LuluVox Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 the dark is a big GR fan. unfortunatly he no longer frequents here I thought he just morphed into gaf the horse with tears.
Head Wreck Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 hmmmmmmmm your right. i just didnt realise the name. whoops on my part
Gaf The Horse With Tears Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 Actually... Cage may have what it takes to pull it off. Johnny Blaze was sorta made after Evil Knevil... Motor Cycle stunt performer. He sold his soul in the name of Love. This gives him control.. to some extent, over the curse that sale brought on him. He is sopposed to be a troubled tortured soul.. Cage, in my opinion, does this type of role pretty well. Really, as long as he does better than he did in Wicker Man.. everything will be ok.
paradox Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 nick cage kills movies. i hate him. why, god, why? ghost rider was/is cool. i feel very strongly that this movie will blow chunks. i am not happy.
torn asunder Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 i was actually interested in seeing this, until i saw he was the lead...

In the name of love yes but in the movie he does it for a girl in the comics its to cure his father figure crash simpson of cancer
Onyx Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 I don't like Nick Cage but for some reason I like a lot of the movies he is in. I plan to watch this one just because the concept of a flaming motorcycle rider is damn hot.
Fierce Critter Posted February 9, 2007 Author Posted February 9, 2007 INteresting responses. I love Nicholas Cage. And this sounds like a very cool movie. I do tend to not like it when known actors play these kinds of roles. Cage is awfully, well, Nicholas Cage if you know what I mean, to play a role like this. I'd have preferred more unknowns for the X-Men movie, particularly Storm. Halle Berry? Yuck. But I did like the portrayals of Professor X by Patrick Stuart (perfect casting) and Wolverine by Hugh Jackman, whom I had never heard of before the X-Men movies. Anyway, I'll enjoy seeing this one.
Gaf The Horse With Tears Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 I never said who he did it for... just that he does it with true love in his heart. I don't expect some perfeft rendition of Ghost Rider as seen in the comic books. GR changed as the original series went on. The GR that appears in the later comics as a guest charactor is far different than those first few comics fromt he 70's. Hell, the original Ghost Rider was a local sherrif in a costume.. and he road as horse... I beleive from the previews they have taken a great deal of license with that bit of history. Actually.. there have been 4 Ghost Riders... This movie is about #2
