Sherzilla Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Does anyone know of a product that will get the smoke smell out of hair without making it yanno sticky and gross feeling? Thanx Sheri
torn asunder Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 i've always just used my normal shampoo & never had any problems... sorry i mcan't be more help!
pomba gira Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 Would suggest rinsing w/lemon water but I think that can strip color or at least lighten your natural color... not sure tho, don't know a lot about hair care for caucasian people
Sherzilla Posted February 28, 2007 Author Posted February 28, 2007 Well I was looking for something that I can spray on without washing my hair actually, like when you've been in a dingy bar for hours and you're going to meet your momma right after and you don't want to smell like smoke. or when my bf comes home from his pool league smelling of smoke so bad that I cannot cuddle with him without gagging :( !! We both have long hair and the smell just stays in there unless we shower it out and sometimes it's not good to take a drunken shower.
Onyx Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 I've never found anything that will work except just washing the smell out. Quite a pain when your hair is long and you're tired, but seems like spraying it with another scent would just make it worse. I wonder if rubbing baking sode into it and brushing it out would help? When I was in beauty school I remember them mentioning that as a way to give someone bedridden a cleaner scalp. I think if I'm gonna do that though, I'd just rather wash it.
pomba gira Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 Maybe some of that "dry shampoo" stuff? I think most of them are in spray form... designed for bedridden folks, but I've seen similar products for pets, too.
Brenda Starrr Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 L'Oreal used to have those sprays that were scented. You could just spray it on, and the smell was gone. I can't recall what the name was....
Sherzilla Posted March 2, 2007 Author Posted March 2, 2007 Febreeze came to mind!!! I have some leave in condiioner that you are supposed to use on wet hair, but when you use it on dry hair it gets a bit sticky but it does seem to work. Thanks for the suggestions! I really appreciate it.
