Jarodaka Posted March 16, 2005 Posted March 16, 2005 Far from being an arbitrary indicator of the changing seasons, March 20 (March 21 in some years) is significant for astronomical reasons. On March 20, 2005, at precisely 7:34 a.m. EST (12:33 Universal Time), the Sun will cross directly over the Earth's equator. This moment is known as the vernal equinox in the Northern Hemisphere. For the Southern Hemisphere, this is the moment of the autumnal equinox. Nifty. Few Snow Showers High 39°F Low 19°F Precip. 30 % Ugh. I think I'll keep myself toasty warm with an adult beverage. Since it's a Sunday this year it makes partying on the last day of winter quite convenient.
TheLordShaper Posted March 16, 2005 Posted March 16, 2005 I second that. Im so fricking tired of the cold. ugggg..... please let it stop. ~TLS
Nienna Posted March 16, 2005 Posted March 16, 2005 I can handle the cold... I miss my heels... I hate snow!
TheLordShaper Posted March 16, 2005 Posted March 16, 2005 What no heels in winter? What kind of "goth" are you anyway? ~TLS
mallochai Posted March 16, 2005 Posted March 16, 2005 frosty the snowman.... *ducks <{POST_SNAPBACK}> snow-woman I believe... and I'm guessing she's the type who doesn't like falling down. It looks very... un-lady-like, even for those who don't care about being lady-like.
Nienna Posted March 16, 2005 Posted March 16, 2005 What no heels in winter? What kind of "goth" are you anyway? ~TLS <{POST_SNAPBACK}> One that finds falling on one's ass unglamorous....
Jarodaka Posted March 16, 2005 Author Posted March 16, 2005 What no heels in winter? What kind of "goth" are you anyway? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Heels? Bah! Stompy, platform boots for winter, of course!
Lilith Posted March 16, 2005 Posted March 16, 2005 this time of year is sooooo depressing,, you see it, you know Summer wants to spring into gear..... Ughhhhhh i hate this time of year
mandelbrotjulia Posted March 16, 2005 Posted March 16, 2005 Man, where are you people lucky enough to live? It's already getting hot in my town, ugh! It's supposed to be 'April showers bring May flowers', not 'February showers bring March flowers'. It's not that Spring is so bad, it's just that there IS no spring. There are only two seasons here: tons of summer and a little bit of winter, and I hate summer. Bring back the rain!
Ginevra Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 If it's any consolation, I saw some young squirrels out cavorting today. The little ones don't usually come out until it's very nearly Spring, so hopefully it's not too far off for us.
Brenda Starrr Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 I want to see the crocus and forsythia bushes bloom. Then, I know it's here.
Onyx Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 My kids are going to have to hide their Easter eggs in snow instead of grass. This isn't funny, dammit! Who stole spring this year?
Jarodaka Posted March 21, 2005 Author Posted March 21, 2005 It's going to be 41 tomorrow in Ann Arbor. Downright toasty! I'd wear my shorts if I had any.
