BrassFusion Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 It also turns you into a smartass, apparently. And that's never a bad thing.
Amerist Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 Heh. And I saw the title and thought it was asking me to please read the post ... As an author I fully and wholly endorse this product, "LITERACY AND READING." 9 out of 10 authors agree: People should read. [Cue logo.] [Fade to black.]
Homicidalheathen Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 Note that reading too much Tabloid shit however has just the opposite effect. It melts your brain, turning you into a coke guzzling, makeup wearing bimbo complete with a trashy disposition and prone to sudden urges to shop needlessly. Ok, well maybe not.....but it can't be good for you.
pomba gira Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 Anyone who enjoys reading, or wants to start reading more, should check out www.bookcrossing.com...this is mad righteous. I just discovered it yesterday (through 43 Things- how Web 2.0!) and plan to make my first two releases today. Who knows, maybe this will encourage me to actually start reading un-illustrated books again! At the very least it's a cool way to get rid of my book hoard. Oh yeah, if you join, use me as a referral so I can get points... my handle there is Yami-No-Sensei.

LOL Maybe thats what happens, soon as they start reading about themselves, they get even trashier. It has an exponential effect!!

Amerist Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 "Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read." -- Groucho Marx For some reason, the PETS newsletter this this quote more often than any other. It makes me laugh, but it's the fifth time I've seen them tack it onto it this year. Since I send the newsletter by hand sometimes, I end up reading it - a lot.
