'the Great Cow Incident Of '89"

I talked about it in my recent blog. I want to know if anyone remembers it. Since I'm lazy and don't feel like re-typing it, I decided to copy and paste it here:

So, back in the summer of 1989, I was 8 years old. I lived with my grandpa on his farm. He had everything the sterotypical, cliche famer had. He had fields of corn and wheat. Barns and silos. Sheep, horses, chickens and cows etc etc.

One year, 1989, all his cows got out. It was a huge fiasco. Police closed down roads. Helicopters were also involved. Police and media helicopters searching for the cows and reporting the incident. It was in the newspapers and news casts; both radio and television.

Well, not too long ago, I brought the incident up in a conversation with my grandpa.

"Grandpa, you remember the great cow incident of '89, when all of your cows got out?"

He responds with suspicion in his voice:

"Yeeeaaahh?"

"Yeah. I've been wanting to tell you this for a while, but I wanted to wait until you couldn't 'spank' me anymore...(I clear my throat). I, umm...I was the one that let them out..."

This is the great part, this is how he responded:

"I KNEW you had SOMETHING to do with it!!"

What's funny, is I realized how small this world is. I told Joni about this, she in turn told her mother about it. Joni didn't even get to finish before her mom asked:

"Weren't there helicopters involved?"

Apparently she knew about it. I, also, was telling Jeremy (slingerlandstyx), about it, he cuts me off and shouts:

"THAT WAS YOU??!!"

He knew about it because his mother has lived in Howell her whole life.

Haha. So, apparently, I became famous when I was 8, amongst Livingston County. That day will live on in infamy as "The Great Cow Incident of '89'"!

I plan on going to the local library and going through the newspaper archives, finding that article and taking copies of it!! I'm going to scan it and post it as a blog then frame it and hang it on my wall!! Hahaa!!

I got sent to community service at the bowers farm...I think I remember a cow got hit on I-75 by a buick and the cow lived longer than the buick...

Then it exploded several hours later (the cow) since it was hot and the methane in it's gut continued to form...

I'm hungry....
