Brenda Starrr Posted March 16, 2005 Posted March 16, 2005 At 2:00a.m., we had water streaming into our master bath while the jerks upstairs were showering (at 2:00a.m.!!). It happened again at around 10 this morning. Now, I just went into my bedroom, only to find that it's leaking through my bedroom ceiling!! I am so pissed!!! I can't wait to move into a 3rd floor apt.!!
TomCat Posted March 16, 2005 Posted March 16, 2005 dry the water damaged materials ASAP, unless you really do like breathing in mold! And have your landlord fix it ASAP
Brenda Starrr Posted March 16, 2005 Author Posted March 16, 2005 I'm on it. They just better get here soon. If I have to get my doc to write a note about all of my allergies, so be it.
TomCat Posted March 16, 2005 Posted March 16, 2005 That works too, if good old fashioned violence wont get it done!
Brenda Starrr Posted March 16, 2005 Author Posted March 16, 2005 This is just so messed up. I'm really angry. I also have asthma. This needs to be taken care of immediately.
paradox Posted March 16, 2005 Posted March 16, 2005 air movement. put as many fans in the wet areas as you can. air movment can prevent mold from forming and dry an area faster. make sure the LL gets a company that will properly extract, dry out an dissinfect the flooded areas. anything thats wet for more than 24 hours is at high risk for molding.
paradox Posted March 16, 2005 Posted March 16, 2005 its my job well sorta. we dont do restoration, but ive sucked plenty o floods before. i was even on the news once, few years back.
TomCat Posted March 16, 2005 Posted March 16, 2005 its my job well sorta. we dont do restoration, but ive sucked plenty o floods before. i was even on the news once, few years back. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Who I work for...if it's in the news, I'm out of a job...
Brenda Starrr Posted March 16, 2005 Author Posted March 16, 2005 *stomps feet* There's fucking water coming out of my bedroom ceiling!!!
TomCat Posted March 16, 2005 Posted March 16, 2005 LOL! It's not quite THAT bad...I'm an environmental consultant...and I have many corporate and municipal clients (Counties, cities, townships). If they get to the point where the mold in their buildings get to be a problem, & it hits the media...I'm gone. Bad press=unemployment in my biz.
paradox Posted March 16, 2005 Posted March 16, 2005 fans! towels! scream at landlord! wash the walls/ceiling with bleach water when its done dripping (but not the carpet!). call a flood restoration company and bill the land lord. that ll get his attention. no one is there yet?
Brenda Starrr Posted March 16, 2005 Author Posted March 16, 2005 They just left. They poked holes in my ceiling to let the water out. My husband's Godfather (who's also the property manager) is coming tomorrow to survey the damage and call the contractor. It pays to have family here.
