Where To Cash A Western Union Money Order?

My mom just sent me a Western Union Money Order. I cannot for the life of me find a place here who will cash it. Does anyone in or near Royal Oak know where I can go to cash this damned thing???

Kroger or Walmart do it here in Kentucky....

there are western unions in kroger's and stuff, they should do it there or at least tell u where u can

Seedy Party stores that will usually charge 6% of the total.

You shouldn't have had to pay that much to get money.... I picked one up from my parents last week at Kroger. I don't recall having pay anything to pick it up. I'll have to look at the receipt when I go home.

Marc it sounds like you're talking about a straight wire transfer, not a money order... different thing altogether.

A lot of places won't cash non-bank money orders. My credit union puts a hold on them if they're over $20 or so. That's why I only take postal MOs for my eBay sales... cash 'em right at the post office when I ship the item. I'm actually thinking about going PayPal-only 'cos MOs are such a hassle. It's amazing how many knuckleheads apparently don't bother to read your seller rules, or figure you just put them in there to practice your HTML skills.

Yeah.. You're right. Mine was a wire transfer not an MO. I didn't make that distinction. I pretty much use Paypal exclusively for EBay.

Yep. Money orders can be cashed at any check cashing place.

Wire transfers, however, can be picked up from pretty much any Western Union place.
