c0pper Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Symptoms are: abnormal lazyness, lots of peeing, drinking lots of water, stinky breath, hiccups, seizures
pomba gira Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Should add that only the WET foods- that is, in cans or pouches- are affected. Freaked out when I saw Nutro on the list but apparently dry food is OK. Best info I found so far- MSNBC story. Says ONE IN SIX test animals died *prayer for the poor beasties* when the manufacturer tested the suspect stuff, so this is not something you want to take chances with!
mallochai Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 Scary. Heh... even though I only feed my ichabod dry food, at least the stuff we give him (called Blue) isn't on the list. I bet our obediance teacher will be full of things to say about the authority stuff being effected though, since it's the petsmart brand she's supposed to push in class.
DarkVampire Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Well its a good thing I feed my cats only dry food. Its all they eat is Iams.
Rayne Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Our dog used a Purina brand called Moist & Meaty ... the only dog food we could get him to eat because it looked like cheeseburger it was moist, but with no gravy ... long story, but he didn't eat dog food when we got him. I went to the pet store yesterday after attempting to buy him more at a few other stores and I can't find it. Pet store employees said people are buying it like crazy because dogs used to wet food will not eat dry food and it's kind of in between. So we had to switch him to Purina Pro Plan. I had another dog on Pro Plan and it was great. I had to buy a bit of the Pro Plan wet to mix it with since he's not used to dry food at all, but I think I'll just keep him on this until all this is straightened out. Poor dog. First we up and change his food on him, then he goes in today for a Boardatella because there's been an exposure in our vicinity. :(
