A Pirate's Life For Me!

I'm having a Pirate Party for my girls, their friends, and me when the At World's End is released.

We're planning to watch the first 2 movies and then load up and off to the theater to

see the new one. We're going to dress like pirates and talk in pirate talk, eat Pirate Pizza and drink pina coladas (minus the rum). I'm seriously practicing pirate talk. Heather says my Arrrr sounds like a dog howling, heh. Heather and Jill have their costumes but I'm working on mine. There will be 3 teens, 1 of Jill's friends and Heather and Jill, and me. I may have to rent a van to hold everyone if they all RSVP.

I want to write out the words to YoHo and get everyone filmed singing it, heh. I already have the music.

I'm trying to decide whether to have it the first Saturday it's released or wait a few weeks till it's less crowded. It will also depend on how far in advance they will allow me to buy tickets.

An idea for you Onyx that my sister in law is doing for her kid's birthday party - the invitations are made of crumpled up brown paper bags which she soaked in tea and then put in the oven so that they look like old paper. She drew treasure maps on them and there will be chocolate coins and little jewels hidden outside for the kids to find.

I just thought those invitations were SO cute, I thought they might be something you'd be interested in.

I am so excited! I will have two 10 year olds, 4 teenagers and me. I have black balloons and a sign that says "beware of pirates" to put in front of my apartment entrance, pina colada ingredients (coconut milk and fresh pineapple juice - minus the rum), ordering pizza and already have my tickets in hand.

I have my outfit - white blousy shirt, purple corset, purple headscarf, black tattered skirt, black piratey boots.

I've got 3 TVs set up - one big one for the Wii, a medium size one that will be playing the first two movies and a smaller one with the PS2. Three kids are bringing their Wii controllers so the truck race game should be fun to play. After a few hours of games and pizza we will be leaving for the theater.

I can't wait!
