This message is, I read, in the spirit of apology for his earlier claim that Spanish is "inferior" to English. I don't have the verbatim quote, much less the context, and I DO respect his apology, but... his gutter pronunciation is just really funny. Either he's unable to produce a less gringo-ey accent, or he's unwilling to do so because it would feel like "slumming" for him, it being an "inferior" language, and all(much more likely, i think).

Far and away his best delivery is around 1:40- "Yo se qué me español no es perfecto: ¡Pero! Lo estoy estudiando para qué se à mejór." The "Pero!" came out all spunky, it was really kinda cool. He musta worked hard on that one line.

Hats off, grinch, this democrat forgives you. In what other country would you see this sort of outreach...

If he is anything like me...he just can't do it. My verbal skills....SU-UCK.

I just can't tell my tones from my ass or my aerophones from a hole in the ground...can't help it. My students make fun of my accent..and now I'm losing my ability to conjugate "do". (Thanks Michigan!)
