We did have lots of ties with many of the people that probably funded much of the terrorist activity. The bush clan was major pals with many of the big names that are suspected of the higher-level funding. Oddly enough some of the same reasons many of the detainees , some of which are still in custody, have weaker ties to organized terrorism than the blush family does. This doesn't mean they are GUILTY but it does seem pretty hypocritical.

But, nowhere is tha im aware of is tthere any credible evidence that the government actually "planned" any of the attacks.

There is lots of day-by-day breakdown info of what was going on the highest levels of government preceding the USS Cole attack for instance (and masses more for 911) many people were asleep at the wheel, but they weren't driving the bus.
