sinmantyx Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 There isn't enough information for me to make a judgment. It probably wasn't so much that he used a few "bad words" in a private conversation, but that he must have been loud enough and the language rude enough for passengers to be annoyed by it. This isn't professional behavior, and for all we know the situation that prompted the "rude language" may have put him in a bad frame of mind making the airline ill-at-ease to allow him to fly the plane. Then again...maybe the passengers heard him say "bitch please" or "what the hell" in the context of a completely reasonable non-heated private conversation...and they are just being dicks about it (as opposed to pussies....I like pussies.)
TygerLili Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Drunk or not, I'm not sure I'd want someone who's clearly upset operating a plane with me or someone I love on it. I don't even like to drive my car after I've had a heated argument with someone because my mind is not on driving.

I agree, the info is rather sketchy... but the facts that he (a) felt called on to go to a more private space to hold the conversation, (b) could still be overheard, © then actually spoke rudely or angrily to a passenger seem to indicate he was pretty angry or upset. Point C seems especially significant to me- as a professional person, I would have to be just about beside myself with rage before I lost it so far as to curse at, say, a parent or school volunteer. So, as Tygerlili implied, it's likely the airline felt his emotional state might interfere with him safely flying the plane. Sounds like there was more going on than just a few over-delicate souls being offended by some coarse language.
Shade Everdark Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 I don't know what you're talking about; I've always been a complete pussy.
