Brenda Starrr Posted April 15, 2007 Author Posted April 15, 2007 LOL Like I said, SHE killed it with an Edgar Allan Poe book. I had nothing to do with it.
Head Wreck Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 okay, you know some spiders commonly mistaken for wolf spiders cant survive outdoors? only ones i throw out are "daddy long legs" as thier spider eaters, so out they go
Gauge Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 other than the oil i know that a non killing method that works pretty decent with all insect type things (and small rodents if you put enough out) is to put cinnamon around doors or under cabinets, whereever they hang out. they eat it and it messes up their insides and makes them confused so they leave. and on the plus side you can put it anywhere and its safe for pets and kids! not to mention itll make your house smell yuuuuumy
pomba gira Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Here is an interesting page I found on Wolf Spiders and house spiders in general.http://www.washington.edu/burkemuseum/spid...nsidewolf.html# Jeez, I thought I was an insufferable pedant! Oh well, K.I.P. & all that... but that "giant house spider" looks nothing like the ones I see around here... I have at least 5 spider species around my little spread & none of them really looks like that pic. Thanx for the cinnamon tip, Gauge! I'll have to add that one to my arsenal this summer.
Homicidalheathen Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 I usually allow a few to keep the other bugs at bay....but no more than 4 a floor. I kill them in the fall. Weird huh. http://doyourownpestcontrol.com/boricacid-cb.htm My freind says this works around openings.
Msterbeau Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 It's really not nice to call Jeff a big hairy spider, ya know?
Gauge Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 yea but that kills em, and its not safe for animals or pets or anything
