Alright, alright. I just made my two thousandth post, and gee, it only took me... five years!

On a slightly more interesting note...

I'm coming back to michigan for a visit, in May. I'll be in town from the eighth to the fourteenth. I'll mostly be doing family things, as my middle brother is getting hitched, but on friday I'm driving out that way to spend an evening drinking with paul (paperhearts). On saturday, I'm hoping to head out to the dia, but I don't have plans after that for saturday evening.

I doubt I'll be going to city club... unless the mob insists.

Either way, if anyone has any exceptional suggestions about what to do in the d-town area on saturday the twelfth of may, I'm potentially open for suggestions.

The mob does insist!! congtats on ur 2,000 post!

I actually do this all the time.

Happy 2,000 and remember a lower post count just means you actually have a life.

Ah, positive reinforcement! I knew you'd be useful someday. :wink

I think Brenda needs to go outside more. Granted I've taken a couple sabbaticals from the forum but she has posted 7.59 times more than I have (as of the post before this one) with "24.4 posts per day / 8.78% of total forum posts" compared to my "1.9 posts per day / 1.16% of total forum posts".

I've been on here two years longer (estimated, that's with the combined info that was brought over from the old Spiral board).

The first step to fixing the problem is admitting you have one. A few other users on here need to take the same advice, pause, and reflect. I'm on the internet quite a bit daily, however I don't let it run my life or get in the way of other things (unless there is an actual meeting in IRC or something).

So this is it, I'm coming this week.

I will not be available for city club, as I'm flying in without my ID. Long story. So no bars or clubs for me, unless they will accept my paper copies, which means I probably won't be seeing anyone from the board aside from those I've already made arrangements with.

I would like to extend a formal apology to Troy, as I will not be able to come and have tea with you, which I promised I would months and months ago, before this whole thing even got underway. Next year, I'll make efforts to have a car again while there, and we'll do it up royal.

I was hoping to have a get together with the ipm boys, but that plan seems to have some worms in it as well.

Sorry everyone, maybe next time! :wave

Now.....

Back when I posted a LOT, I was working in an office where I had PLENTY of time to post. OR, I was freelancing. I have also taken days at a time away from this board. Now that I don't have internet access at work and spend most of my time outside the house, I don't post nearly as much. PLUS, I'm a Sr. Mod, meaning that I have to get on here and make an appearance.

And the only reason I'm on today is because I'm sick and didn't go in to work......

I can get you into Mephisto's if you want

I liked Mephistos the last time I was there. You should go, Mallochai!

a friend of mine refers to stairs as the enemy (wheelchair bound with MS)

while another hates ramps (fused ankles and still recovering back muscles after spending a year in a hospital bed after a motorcycle accident broke her back in several places)

My suggestion is that you move back here permanently! It cant be helped, it must be done.

Well that was like the third time I left. You're too new to remember all the other times I've gotten fed up and left.

      About to head up to Roseville to return this rental and pick up my truck from the auto shop.  It is supposedly sporting a newly fabricated frame rail...I don't think they are referred to as "chassis" anymore as I see the confusion in shop owner's eyes when they ask me if I'm looking for "body work?".   But I do find it interesting that I told the owner that I worked direct with OEM parts and yet he still wrote me up an invoice with overpriced OEM parts from companies I used to host at the place I used to work for.  With that said, I'm expecting a stellar job for the amount I paid.   ...else, there will be some talk negotiations.

      ~~~~~ Definitely wishing you luck.  Do enjoy yourselves.   But I have to admit, the first thing that came to mind was does roadside assistance reach the desert? 😬
      ~~~~~ Yeah, it's like something happened to my metabolism this past Winter and when I came out of hibernation, that AARP Join Request started looking like something to check into.

      This 👆 definitely goes with what I said in my other post - getting old sucks. Seems like *everything* takes longer and takes more energy out of me than it used to. Really need to work on my diet and exercise, I've found the older I get, the more important those things have really become...
