IMO,Match.com is a joke,and a waste of time.

I'm pretty fed up with Match. It seems every time I log in they've restricted more and more stuff to paying members. They're using their position at the top of the dating site heap to try coerce people into paying for membership. If people aren't responding to you... you're not helping generate money. *Poof*.. you're gone.

Fuckers... I'm getting off the site soon... even though I don't even pay. I can't support them.

I wasn't exactly match.com material, esp when it comes to mentioning that I have a hearse in my profile. I had to so there was no bad surprises lol.

Yeah, I am done with the dating sites at this point for now anyway. Lets see what the "let them come to you" statement try its term of use.

Wow this worries me. I have never been big on dating, usually just found it troublesome and have said for years Im happier just hanging out with my friends and doing my own thing than dealing with relationship stuff, but somewhere i always assumed that if i wanted to find a relationship it wouldnt be so difficult. and since ive met nearly half of my friends online over the years, i assumed i could go to any one of the sites mentioned here and look. I never actually tried, but it was a thought. Hearing all this makes me think.... Wow. Guess Ill just stay single!

I don't think it really matters Where you meet someone. Finding a relationship isn't neccesarily the difficult part, finding someone good to have a relationship with, that's the difficult part IMO.

Tokagemaru & I found each other on Yahoo personals... so, it worked for me... and I know of plenty other success stories. If I had to do it again, I'd go with Nerve. I think it's best for non-vanilla types, there are some very interesting people there. What I've found, you are more likely to encounter liars and fakes if you're a mainstream type looking for another mainstream type. Since I'm not into "regular guys", I'm not likely to be taken in by someone trying to convince me what a "regular guy" and all-around good catch he is.

For people like us, the key is to make your profile honest and detailed. Don't just say "I'm an easygoing guy and like to do just about anything" even if that's true. Letting your other-ness shine through will simultaneously identify you to kindred spirits and scare off the vanilla types who you'd never be happy with anyway. You may not get tons of responses, but the ones you do get will be worthwhile.

Agreed. I just think Match.com has gone slowly evil. Fuckers. I have two emails waiting for me from unidentified people and it's going to stay that way. I'll stick with other services.

Then again... I've had remarkable luck at clubs lately. Maybe I'll stick with that... LOL!!

FYI match.com is run by the Mormon's (I'm not saying that as a particularly bad thing) and do try to screen out people that they feel would not end in the "standard" roles.

Really? Man... I am so outta there. Not because Mormons are running it... but because if what you're saying is true (And I wouldn't bet against it.) then they're practicing a form of censorship - without telling people they they're doing so. Fuck that.

I know it's a little bit off-topic, but isn't eHarmony reported to do the same thing, at the very least with regard to homosexual relationships?

Forget all these dating sites, DGN seems to be turning into a gothic dating site with all these posts about being single and flirting lately :p

I would say so too. I mentioned up front in my profile that I have what others deem as morbid hobbies such as having a hearse and doing photography of multiple sorts. I didnt want to lead people into thinking I was your average joe. And I paid for it by not having any results.

Don't ever change yourself for anyone. Do what You want to do in your life, how & when You want to do it.

If you don't find someone who's cool with that, then you're better off solo.
