The Black Donnelly's is the best show you have never seen.

If you have Itunes or bit torrent... get every episode you can! (12 of them plus 1 on monday night)

The series got canned after the 4th episode due to the network being scared to run it on regular television. THe series runs as a consecutive storyline, SO SEEING THEM OUT OF ORDER IS OUT OF THE QUESTION. That being said... the network would not air episode 3 becuse it was too violent for TV... this left an hour out of the story.

Basic synopsis: Guy named Joey "Ice cream" is in jail and answering questions about the Donnelly family asked by detectives. The Donnelly's are 4 brothers who get thrown into the situation of having to involve their lives (and futures) in organized crime after one rash decision by "the trouble maker brother".

Each episode is told from Joey Ice Creams" point of view and the cops are always catching him in lies or substituting rumor etc. when he doesnt know somthing. Joey was friends with the Donnellys and grew up with them... so he is the most knowledgable person on the subject.

The show basicly plays out like a mix of Goodfellas and the Usual suspects. The characters are well developed and are all quite different. the cast and supporting cast is quite good and the average viewer will recognize bit actors from time to time (the father from the wonder years and kate mulgrew are two examples)

Here is the last scene from the first episode.

Tommy, the good brother is trying to save his brother(s) from being murdered by the mob over gambling debts, drugs, theft etc. The story is being told by Joey Ice Cream.

to find out what led up to this or what happens next... you will have to bit torrent or Itunes them.

Uck, that show does not jive with me. It feels forced or unauthentic or something, I don't know. I'll take Heroes.

of course its "forced"... most of it is made up by a guy trying to stay out of jail.

And.... heroes is very authentic <smile>

Not what I mean by forced or inauthentic. Basically I just don't feel like the show has heart, that's all.

I respect your opinon but dont agree (thats just me). It does take a few episodes to understand all of the motivations etc... plus to see the history of each character and how their personal lives all affect one another is pretty interesting. Some of the conflicts and resentments come from events that happened years before (this is very true of real life)

P.S. I really like heroes too <smile>
