This happens mostly on DGN but I've seen it happen on some other sites as well. I'll be browsing along and it will begin to load a page, take entirely way too long, then open up a new tab, then another new tab, and it will keep doing this until I kill the process or click on another site in my bookmarks folder, it also opens up the downloads box. I've determined this is not a virus and is probably just a problem in the code. It doesn't annoy me enough to do anything about it yet other than make this post to see if anyone has experienced anything similar. Version is 2.0.0.3 with the following add-ons: Adblock Plus, DOM inspector, Flashgot, HTML validator, IE tab, Talkback, videodownloader. Also using the default theme

you clearly have a virus. i'd get in touch with a professional, like the guys at best buy

I use the same browser and have not had that problem. The only problem I have once in a great while is when I try to go on DGN, the screen will go completely white, and I have to reload once or twice.

I am using the same version, 2.0.0.3 with the default theme. I haven't seen it do that, and DGN has been loading quickly for me lately.

I visit around 5 other forums regularly too and haven't seen that happen so far.

You mean the "we don't know shit" squad? I laugh at their computer knowledge. Also, not a virus.

I have a weird thing with Safari (Mac) where it times out when I reply in a thread and gives me the blank white screen saying it can't connect to the server. But if I reload DGN, my reply is there.

It also sometimes happens to PM's.

And always DGN. Nothing else ever does anything remotely like it.

Run Adaware / Spyware Doctor or whatever adbuster software u have (use more than one , no single prog can catch everything) Then run and antivirus.

Usually stuff like what your describing is either adware gone wild (similar to girls gone wild) or a virus.

Wow. I've never run into anything like that. My biggest problem with Firefox is how it sometimes tries to take up 200M of memory for it's cache because it never lets go.

I am wondering, is Firefox set to open a new tab when it's requested to open a new window? Maybe a script is flying out of control (or a local program) is trying to open popups and instead opening tabs.

For the last time IT'S NOT A VIRUS!

This is me talking, not some normal user, I am Nick Burns incarnate. There is a supercomputer to the right of me which I keep there just for bragging rights. I'm also highly paranoid and have run everything under the sun to check. I can say with 99.9% certainty that it is definitely not a virus.

My theory is when I upgraded Firefox (which I've done quite a few times, including alpha and beta versions) that something got changed. Not a huge deal, I should probably be on the Firefox dev forums anyhow, I just don't feel like creating an account on yet another forum.

Whatever, I'm going to go play with my webserver :D

hey this i just thought but i've had extensions cause weird behavior on certian sites before...updating the max file version to mke an outdated extension work in a newer version of firefox...i don't guess you would be doing that though *LOL*

I keep everything up to date and Firefox will disable any extension that isn't compatible with the current version of the browser. Good thinking though.

yeah that's why i change the max file version in the extension...so it will keep working...sometimes it's just not compatible with new versions though like i've had to find out the hard way haha...

if it were me of course i would just hit firefox with a hammer...that fixes everything...hehe

if you're such a tech genius, why do you need outside help on this...

might as well run adware/spyware shit to at least reduce the possibility that oh my god you COULD in fact maybe have somehow gotten a virus, in much the same way that the virgin mary just MAY have been boned after all

I just said it wasn't a virus, and that I was ultra paranoid. Meaning yes I've run adware, spyware, and even rootkit scanners and all have turned up nill. I don't run a firewall because the router acts as a natural firewall.

I don't need outside help, I was just wondering if anyone was experiencing anything similar. I could always just uninstall/reinstall and delete all the registry entries, but I was hoping to avoid that.

      About to head up to Roseville to return this rental and pick up my truck from the auto shop.  It is supposedly sporting a newly fabricated frame rail...I don't think they are referred to as "chassis" anymore as I see the confusion in shop owner's eyes when they ask me if I'm looking for "body work?".   But I do find it interesting that I told the owner that I worked direct with OEM parts and yet he still wrote me up an invoice with overpriced OEM parts from companies I used to host at the place I used to work for.  With that said, I'm expecting a stellar job for the amount I paid.   ...else, there will be some talk negotiations.

      ~~~~~ Definitely wishing you luck.  Do enjoy yourselves.   But I have to admit, the first thing that came to mind was does roadside assistance reach the desert? 😬
      ~~~~~ Yeah, it's like something happened to my metabolism this past Winter and when I came out of hibernation, that AARP Join Request started looking like something to check into.

      This 👆 definitely goes with what I said in my other post - getting old sucks. Seems like *everything* takes longer and takes more energy out of me than it used to. Really need to work on my diet and exercise, I've found the older I get, the more important those things have really become...
