neophyte13 Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 Hello everyone. I am moving to Detroit city (near downtown) in late August/early September and I am curious as to whether there are any shops servicing the pagan community in Detroit proper. Neither myself nor my roommate own cars, and I will be relying on the bus system. Looking for a place to network with other beginners in art magick, preferably in the path of Donald Kraig, as well as obtain needed supplies. best, A
Fierce Critter Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 My favorite, Fuchs, closed. But Cosmic Eye in Wyandotte has a great selection of herbs. They're on Biddle (Jefferson). Accessible by the bus system. Welcome, and good luck.
Troy Spiral (13) Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 I've never heard of a Pagan/New Age/ Occult shop in Detroit itself. I'd have to imagine there is one but I'm unaware of any. (Wayndotte , which critter mentions is about as close to "in the city" as you can get without actually being in Detroit) Typically most fringe type shops don't do well in the city itself the disposable income of your average inner-city dweller is quite limited. Here is the (not particularly complete) Witchvox list: http://www.witchvox.com/vn/sh/usmi_sh.html Theres plenty in Metro Area though which is were most everyone that lives "in Detroit" actually lives. Not having a car is a bit more of a problem than in many other big cities that didn't basically invent car culture and as such many of Detroit's resources are spread far and wide. But anyhow... Hi! Hopefully we will see you around the site more often in the future.
