Taking a diesel engine, and only modifying what fuel the vehicle would use. Tested a myth that used cooking oil from fast foods could be used as an alternative fuel. Tests showed that the cooking oil was only 10% less efficient than the diesel petroleum product.

The only modifications that had to be made to the cooking oil it's self was being filtered.

The only modifications to the vehicle was changing the gas lines to the added cooking oil tank instead of the regular diesel tank.

I've just watched this on TV so I've no links yet.. I'll look later. However I found this interesting enough to share on here.

I wonder if the exhaust smells like french fries?

If so, I'm sorry, I can't be in favor of this. I'm already a slave to those little potatoes.

Unfortunately, it is actually not as untaped as you may think. Restaurants don't generally discard their used oil, they sell it to recycling centers who use it for this and other purposes.

Has anyone seen the Simpsons episode where Homer learns of the used fry oil goldmine??

I'm all for alternative fuels, but jeezus, I already gained 10lbs since last summer. Do you know what would happen if I KNEW that there was FREE grease IN MY CAR? I would buy some fucking chicken and throw that shit inside it and be all mmmmMMM deep frieeed goodness. Or if I were real REAL baked out high, then I'd probably say "fuck the chicken" and get a straw. Basically, I would probably end up paying more than if I paid for gas and then eventually, after probably a month or so, I wouldn't even fit into the car. Sooo the grease for fuel idea works out in theory, but not in real life, kinda like communism.

the smell is very sweet smelling. hard to explain unless you've smelt a fat fire burn (without any of your kitchen burn also).

i was told diesel engines were not popular for cars over there. i honestly cant understand why. i have a small compact car (peugeot 106) and i get a very good economy figure out of it (63 miles to the gallon day to day back and forth to work).

peugeot recently have started putting turbocharged V10 ditrect injection diesel engines in some cars, the police cars round here are 90% peugeot direct injection 4 cyl diesels and they shift (albiet not as quick as the other 10%, mitsubishi evo8's subaru WRX's and fast volvo estates popular with the armed response crews). the basic peugeot HDI engines come in differing capacities producing between 90 and 110 BHP, a 10% reduction on this is not that much. its not like you have any hills to compete with (some hills around here are upto 40 degrees steep and my 45bhp diesel does fine)

I have no idea why I'm even on all of these call lists that are on Robo-Dial by A.I.  One is a female voice and the other is a male voice and all they did was change the name that they give you.  I did get put through to a few live people to try to ask them to remove me from their list, but they, the telemarketer, hung up on me.   It's like I'm living "Telemarketers Revenge" for all the years of people handing up on them.   I always spoke with the telemarketer and then wished them a good day before hanging up.  And this is what I get for all of my decades of kindness.  I don't think I deserve this, but the World has lost a lot of the niceties that it used to have when I was growing up.  And no...COVID did not cause this.  I'm also getting tired of that excuse.  Its been 6 years!  People felt they were given the Green Light to be anti-social and rude to your face and now it is part of society just like everything else Mainstream adopts and considers it a cultural add-on.   I just hope I can survive this onslaught of calls blowing up my phone until it dies down.  Else, I will place a block on my number and only allow calls from family, friends and medical associated with my job.

This is crazy.   I had to mute my phone because I am getting 50+ calls a day regarding Life Insurance, Medical Insurance, Burial Benefits, a Senior Food Expense Card, a Senior Social Security monthly reimbursement benefit, etc., and I don't qualify for any of it.  I don't even meet the age requirement.   At current, I have 53 missed calls and 38 of them were from yesterday.
