The Human Body Exhibit At The Science Center

You guys have all heard about this right?

It's the exhibit at the Science Center, and basically, it's a bunch of real human bodies with the skin taken off. It turns out, that on the inside, underneath our skin, we all look like bacon.

I wasn't really expecting that.

So, before we start the tour, the Science Center guy assures us that all of the bodies that we see on display are from people who volunteered their bodies for this purpose. And they're from China.

In case you missed that, he said that these were volunteers FROM CHINA.

I can't get over the fact that I don't think these people actually volunteered for anything, like I really, really, don't believe that there is a word for volunteer in Chinese. I think these were prisoners who were shot in the head, and their signatures forged, and that is how they became 'volunteers'.

So, I'm talking to another friend the other day and I say 'Whatchya doin?' and she says 'I'm trying to google the name of the national anthem of China' and I say 'Did you find it?' and she says 'Yes, it's called the March of the Volunteers'

This only assures me that the word for volunteer in Chinese actually means conscripted.

Fucking China.
