Dubh Aingeal Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 The Guardian is reporting that the UK's has launched a new breed of police 'spy drone'. Originally used in military applications, these drones are being put into use as a senior police officer warns the surveillance society in the UK is eroding civil liberties. In the UK, there are an estimated 4.2 million surveillance cameras already, and you are on average photographed 300 times a day going about your business. Is there any evidence to suggest that this increasingly Orwellian society is actually any safer?
Head Wreck Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 within sight of a house with a blue plaque "george owrwell lived here" reporters could see 7 camera masts in an otherwise crime free town. go figure. with whats recently been put through parliment i am seriously thinking of emigrating. if anywhere will have me. will the last person out of the UK please switch off the lights
Onyx Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 The print on this new board is too small for my middle-aged eyes. I could have sworn this said Sex Drones in the UK and couldn't wait to see what that was. I'm so disappointed! :grin
