ok, so one of my friends and i are taking a road trip tomorrow (sunday) from chicago and we have no idea where we're going to go or what either.

is there any suggestions you can give me? we're totally into nightlife, partying, shows, and doing whatever there is to do.

well, i guess DEMF is happening... not that i've ever gone. there's a thread about it called "i'm so excited!!!" or something like that. i'd say you should hit up city club, but i'm not sure if they'll be open on sunday night

Fuck, on a Sunday? Well there are a couple of bars open, but none of them really goth.

Club FT in Roseville usually gets a nice crowd. It's on Gratiot and 11 just north of Trixies Coffee house I believe (which is open till 1 if you like coffee house atmosphere and also has a bunch of nice people, though it is "(bad) poetry night").

DEMF is your best bet IMO. http://www.demf.com/

http://www.vamp.org/Gothic/clublist.html might cover something I missed (no it doesn't). Also you might want to check here http://vampirefreaks.com/events/browse.php and over at http://www.clubzone.com

Luna will be open Sunday for some 89X event. http://www.lunaroyaloak.com for more info and directions.

How long are you staying for? Just one day?

If your into seeing a true American, dead, industrial ghost land, there's lots of "the ruins of detroit" that are open 24/7 no matter what day you come. No other big city has such a vast mountain range of post-industrial revolution concrete jungle. It really gives one the impression that Detroit was ground-zero for the first ever Neutron Bomb test. (Destroys all living things but leaves the buildings more or less intact)

But yeah if you can still be here on a Friday or Saturday City Club is pretty much a must-go. The community has a love-hate relationship with the place but its something you have to go to at least once. Just finding it can be an adventure since its not marked.

But in terms of "Nightlife" Sunday is not much good for "goth partying". This Sunday there is the techno thing at city club if your into such things.

This reminds me we need to get the DGN calendar whipped into shape.

There's "Industrial Movement 2" at Saint Andrews. I know a bunch of DGNers are going to that. Doors are at 9. There should still be tickets at the door. Who knows.

things.

Delete all the current events, most of them are old and outdated. Besides it won't take the creator of the event long to make another event.

alright, i have no idea if any of you are interested about the night's events, but we ended up driving all the way to detroit, the chick that was behind the wheel started getting pissed that she had no idea how the hell to get to anywhere, so we ended up driving all the way back to lansing just to get a bottle of smirnoff and a cheap crappy hotel. which, aggravated me because it seemed like a big waste, but oh well good memories.

our origional plan was to go to the industrial movement. i'd plans to go to that for 2 months now, but the major band i wanted to see -Manufraqture- dropped out so after that it was iffy, but we couldn't even find our way there. And of course, instead of asking for directions she spazzed out and left. still pretty angry about it, but we're planning on going back relatively soon. maybe it'll be more planned out next time.

thanks to all for your help/suggestions.
