ZhukovCodeslinger Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 The Party starts at 9pm and DJs will rotate every hour or so until???? SO come on out and have a banging time while our DJs spin all sorts of new and old mixes, mashes and flat out crazy stuff! At the last show we had a awesome mash of Eddie Murphy's "Party all the time" laid over a banging drum beat... Plus a recent remix of "James Brown Is Dead"... in super bad taste... but who cares, the song was awesome and its not like hes Rick James Bitxh! The last party was sucessfull enough we are going for it again! All are welcome! I think our promo flyers are getting better <smile>

Rayne Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 Zhuk, I'm going to put this up on the DGN events calendar ... and Troy, no, the Lab is not open regularly anymore ... only for special events now.

ZhukovCodeslinger Posted June 28, 2007 Author Posted June 28, 2007 Only two days left! This party is going to be great! We were mentioned in Real Detroit in an article about one of our DJs! The Music will be top notch, the drinks are cheap, and come on, you are gonna be in Detroit anyway. Try somthing new... i did once and I have loved goth/industrial ever since <smile> pick up todays edition of real detroit. electrophile by Jean Johnson You’re in for a treat as DJ Seoul headlines the Labyrinth on Saturday. “Expect to have a great time dancing and listening to some Detroit electro and techno bass,” said Seoul, who plans on playing a lot of D-tracks, as well as a few of his new ones. DJ Seoul, aka Bill Stacy, is the owner of Bang Tech 12, a new member of the Detroit Techno Militia and recently played Movement: Detroit’s Electronic Music Festival. “This years DEMF was an awesome experience for me,” he said. “I had a wonderful time playing and the response I received was really positive and uplifting. Performing on the Real Detroit stage with some of the world’s best talent was something I will never forget. Since then, I’m really working hard in the studio.” As the newest member of DTM, DJ Seoul’s in good company. “I joined DTM last March, and it is a perfect fit for me. To enlist with a crew that positively represents Detroit, and is concerned with teaching the music’s history to people worldwide, is an honor. So many good things have happened to me since then; as a group, we have really big plans for the future. DTM 001 and DTM 002 were released on vinyl and are selling out all over the planet.” Check out DJ Seoul, June 30 at the Labyrinth. Word on the street is there’ll be swag like DJ Seoul’s new CD and DTM stickers. | RDW
Homicidalheathen Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 I invited a drummer last night....(accoustic hand) some of them like Techno....it surprises me actually when they don't. It is so tribal and pure. I understand its always in 4/4 but it is suppose to be to get you to trance out....my one friend said he HATES IT. I really don't get how you can hate it!!! Just don't understand why it is not a bigger movement in this area I am sick of Detroit for this. Everyone listens to old rock and crap. Sorry DJ's but most of the time when I go to the club I hear the same industrial songs over and over...... (scary guy pulls out things I dont hear often) I loved CC when it was getting all graver and playing more techno......some old farts complained and they went back to playing the same ol crap again.....thanks guys. Can't wait for a night of techno and electronica.
odims_sphere Posted June 30, 2007 Posted June 30, 2007 I'm gonna "try" to make it down there for a bit.
Homicidalheathen Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 Thanks again for a good mix. I danced....drank.....wow did I get plastered. Since I cut back it doesn't take much. I only had 3 shots the whole night but it was plenty. We went to the one on plum after..I danced for a total of 3 hours and My legs are sore still. Sorry friends but I am going alone from now on so I can um leave not alone.....heh.....I miss good opporotunities that way lol.......gotta go post some pics of the river now.
ZhukovCodeslinger Posted July 3, 2007 Author Posted July 3, 2007 Thanks for coming out! Im glad you liked the music, I love that you typically never hear the same song from one show to the next. it was good to see you again and meet catseye. I loved the chalk outlines you did. People kept staring at them all night. We ended up out on plum too (after hitting the works)... but went on to the loft party on brooklyn... i did not get in until after 6 am.... <sigh> Oh well... its worth it and each show gets better <smile>
Homicidalheathen Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 I had a modern day disco night lol. My friend was talking about my facination with the make-out by the river scene (he is from D) and he was like 'what river were you by sister? The Detroit river? You were in the HOOD gurl!' Yup and I did a chalk outline too. Not many people can say they barred their ass doing that on a Detroit sidewalk. (my skirt was short and I was drunk) You should have seen the look on the bartenders face when I handed him back that little nub of chalk after promising not to 'hurt' it.
odims_sphere Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 I really wanted to make it, even if only for a bit but the atmosphere up stairs was so electric that I just couldn't leave. I swear I'll make *try* to make the next one.
Homicidalheathen Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 I take it this is a pic of you spinning......when are we going to get to see ya do this live and in person? Only two days left! This party is going to be great! We were mentioned in Real Detroit in an article about one of our DJs! The Music will be top notch, the drinks are cheap, and come on, you are gonna be in Detroit anyway. Try somthing new... i did once and I have loved goth/industrial ever since <smile>
