Talking on your cellphone while driving isn't a crime in most states, but it should be. Studies have shown that people who drive and talk are many times more likely to have an accident. A new company is releasing a device to automatically detect drivers talking on their cell phones. Instead of police officers needing to observe a cellphone in use, the system automatically detects a cell phone call and records which car was making the call.

It's so embarassing that we live in such a jeuvenille society where we need to be constantly kept after by laws and technology because most of us cannot be our own keepers. *sigh* Personally I am sick of distracted drivers. I also think that unless you are a surgeon, FBI agent, fireman on-call or some other emergency or law personnel, forget using cell phones all over the place. People seriously need to get over themselves! None of us are that important as to kill ourselves, our passengers and other people over dialing a goddamned phone and having a stupid chat about who wants Kentucky Fried chicken for dinner.

I say that people need to turn off their phones more, and tune back into life, REAL life. We're so lost as a society.

I once saw someone on their cell phone while smoking a cigarette in the other when they were driving down the street; I guess he had one hell of a dick to steer that car with.

I tend to do this, If i'm on the road, company to someone, or have company over, my phone is off. other times my phone is off is if it's out of range, or if i forget to charge the battery. Either way, reaching me by phone is near impossible sometimes lol.

well it helps if I am lost to be able to call for directions......but I guess you can pull over for that......I dont care about people talking on their cell phones if its quick and all.....

I know this doctor guy who uses his car time to make calls and to tape himself.......and he is such a space cadet he should just do it at home but he says he has no time.....

Are they going to bust these people to? The ones who are transcribing or taping themselves...? His hands are free, its his mind that is busy.

i got hit by a driver talking on the celphone and had to pay for repairs. otherwise i would have come to the states 2-3 years earlier.

i was soo pissed off because she was going WAY to fast also, well over the 60 limit of that road. just tore the nose of my car clean off

I had the idea for a cellphone jamming gun which would oversaturate it with white noise/make them lose their signal. Probably not very FCC compliant though
