Msterbeau Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 First it was cheap toys and clothes. It's getting a little more serious as they fully integrate into the global economy: http://www.aftermarket.autoblog.com/2007/0...es-now-failing/
Hellion Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 This has become a worldwide problem, shit look where the food industry is going, along with the tainted toothpaste, wheat glutten, and pet foods, this needs to be stopped,or at least strictly controlled,IMO.
BrassFusion Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 If consumers keep buying shit, China will keep making shit. And it ain't just China. Besides, not all their stuff is horrible. They make decent inexpensive bicycles and quite effective student model stringed instruments. What can we do to motivate Chinese manufacturers to stop producing goods that are so crappy as to be unsafe at any speed?

What can we do to motivate Chinese manufacturers to stop producing goods that are so crappy as to be unsafe at any speed? You're right on about us as consumers. As long as people keep demanding cheap goods, manufacturers will continue to go to cheap sources of labor to have them built. And crap is often what we'll get. I also agree on the quality thing... Not of all of it is bad... but it seem like they're the opposite of the Japanese and Koreans... They mostly just keep building junk... never adding the quality over time.
Msterbeau Posted June 26, 2007 Author Posted June 26, 2007 Firestone would be proud Oddly, they're Japanese owned.
