That was going to be my next guess - except I couldn't remember the exact name, and was going to say "The Melodia"?

This week:

Which primarily electronic artist has scored (either alone or in colaboration with another) more of director John Carpenters films than any other composer?

(easy to cheat on this one but o-well)

Posted

I will give you a hint:

It is not Ringo Starr.

Posted

John Carpenter himself? Or are you looking for one of his collaborators?

Posted

Ding Ding Ding... you win!!!

Posted

Damn. I didn't cheat on that, either!

Though, I'm admittedly more a film-buff than an electronic music expert, so that trivia is in my head via that route.

This Week:

Which band was the first band to use the term "Industrial Music" to refer to themselves?

Lets see... hmmm...

Posted

NIN

Posted

Ministry?

Posted

Well, I just couldn't wait for Phee to give the correct answer, so I looked it up myself.

Damn - there's no WAY I would have known that.

Next guesser???

Posted

Both good guesses, but however are incorrect.

Actually in the case of NIN (who in the grand scheme of things is sort of a late comer to the game) when asked if they were "industrial music" Trent responed with "No I hate industrial music that's like Frontline Assembly, it's all boring uniinspired bullshit!" Makes you wonder doesn't it?

Got rid of what preytell?

Posted

I suck. Can't wait to see the answer.

Posted

Well... every other question has been answered within 2 days... so you may not have long to wait.

Posted

Nevermind, I thought it had already been guessed, but that was last week's.

I said something like "I'd guess Einstürzende Neubauten, but they're too cool to label themselves like that. Right??"

Posted

Ding Ding Ding!!! correct, They coined the name "Industrial Music" in 1979 after there 2nd release.

Thank you for Playing... I will try to make the next one really hard so it wont be answered so quickly.

Posted

I'm so awesome. And I was also released in 1979!

Posted

Hmm.. That's not what I found on ask.com.

Several websites attribute the coining of the phrase to performance artist, Monte Cazazza, when, in reference to Throbbing Gristle, he used the phrase, "industrial music for industrial people".

Elaboration can be found on several websites (including hypatia.wright.edu...) if you go to ask.com and search on "coined the phrase industrial music".

I will have to question them there linar notes....

Posted

i just want to see a question that I can answer.........

This week:

Where did the industrial band "Sister Machinegun" get it's name?

Posted

From a bunch of anarchic, premenstrual nuns with guns??

Posted

Best guess yet...
