Just got this basicly "dumped" on me to fill in for a (still) undecided time slot. (stresssssss lol) "Do your format" was my instructions. Yes sir! No 1 fill-in work-donkey at your service! (really dont mind , just stressful)

"DETROIT GOTHIC"

89.3 FM Gothic / Industrial / EBM / Synth

Tuesday, July 10th

89.3 FM WHFR is a college radio station based in dearborn. Currently the effective broadcast range is not as large as it should be due to some (legal and other) issues. A rouge guesstimate of the broadcast range and to check and see if you can hear us on FM in your area:

Can you hear us? Broadcast map:

index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=3161

Regardless you can year WHFR on the Internet anywhere: WHFR.FM

This will be all over the board. Music wise, especially tonight. *runs out door*

Yay yay yay! I really need some good music again. It was so much fun listening in last time.

Stress, yes, but at least it's good stress.

Yay! was having trouble with my net connection but finally got the stream to load. Good stuff.

This is nice. I'm catching up on some work and makes the time go by faster and a lot more fun.

Missed the show. But I tried!

way too far out of range. Wish i could listen in. Anyway, i bet it was a good show none the less. Hey would they get pissed off at you if you tried promoting DGN ocasionally? I remember last time they said you have to talk every so often... it would be something to talk about if they let you

Thanks for the encouraging words. I find out tomorrow if i get my own time slot of if i get to wait like another month. *bites nails*

They explained to me what was acceptable promotion of DGN and want wasn't. Pretty much, within the nature of the show (gothic culure) i pretty well set up to just pimp it whenever i want. Which is good.

But still, person to person pimping will be better / get better results.

You can't be as far out of range as me. I'm clear across the state. Did you notice the link where you can listen on the web?

Works great.

Damn, I wish I would have known. I'm sure you did an awesome job, Troy!!! I'll be listening next time.

Well damn it, i didn't get a regular show. They are telling me basically that i WILL get one eventually , and they are pretty good folk so i don't think they are just bullshitting me so they can keep their work-donkey around so that's good right?

I've now got to fill in for two Avant Jazz shows (ugh) i won't even bother telling you guys about , no need for ALL of us to fall asleep hehe. I was told by the station powers that be i'm "a good backup man" and "seem to pickup new formats for fill-in work more quickly than others". Which translates into "good job work donkey!" haha.

Thanks again for the encouraging comments. Honestly, the reason I do DGN, and (will do) the radio stuff is at least 55% because i think (or maybe hope) it at least makes a few peoples lives a bit happier/more enjoyable. If i was just doing it in a vacuum, by myself it wouldn't be worth all the work.

The positive feedback really is encouraging and helps lower my stress and "am i wasting my time?" type nonsense thoughts.
